We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amber Behrens. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amber below.
Alright, Amber thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, what do you think about family businesses? Would you want your children or other family members to one day join your business?
I love family businesses. My husband and I work together and it’s shown us more about each others giftings and strengthened our marriage unbelievably.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My husband and I stepped into our business completely in faith 5 years ago. We both had jobs we enjoyed but worked a ton of hours. We knew with our daughter soon to be born we didn’t want a day care to raise her. We stepped out and started Provision Pantry– a full service catering and meal preparation company.
We are an elite company based in Tulsa that serves meals for film, government contracts, weddings, corporate events, private individuals and everything in between. We focus on the small details and love serving and taking care of our clients before, during and after events.
Our customers love the service they receive, food they eat, and process of set up to break down. Our team is world class and genuinely enjoys showing up to work everyday.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
We actually started our company with very little money. We believed God had opened a door for us and we moved in the direction we thought was necessary to start a company.
We started with an old food truck that we rented for $200 a month and gradually moved up until we built our state of the art commercial kitchen. We kept growing forward and moving even when it seemed impossible– we kept finding open doors and opportunities to try things we haven’t done before.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When COVID happened we transitioned from more buffet style meals to boxed meals. This ended up being a huge push for us, as companies still wanted to feed employees and we were able to provide the service because we could control who touched the food and the environment it was prepared in.
During a time where many businesses shut down, we grew to meet the need ahead of us.
