We were lucky to catch up with Deja leonni recently and have shared our conversation below.

Deja, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?

Over the years, I have released a slew of songs, including several singles, and an EP. As of recently, I was finally able to generate revenue from my streams. Because of how well my listeners were streaming my music, I was able to be rewarded with a paycheck, which was amazing.

Deja, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Deja, better known as Deja Leonni. I am a singer/rapper, model and actress from Indiana. While my first love is music, I would eventually fall into the world of modeling and acting.

I began freelance modeling during the Summer of 2020 in Atlanta, GA.
I was able to continue when I returned home to Chicago. In 2021, I had the fortune to be heavily featured in 3 movies and work alongside notable actors.

As of recently, I was signed to 3 Model and Talent Agencies and just released my new single, This Ain’t love. Which is available on streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.

What sets my apart from others is the fact that I do it all. I say this with humility, but I have been able to balance everything I’m doing as well as being in school full time.

I am blessed.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is building my work from the ground up and having people that show genuine support.

It’s also rewarding to know that my efforts are to some avail and everything I’m doing is paying off in some way, shape or form.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My goal is to leave this Earth an empty vessel.

I won’t be satisfied until I’ve done everything God has put me here to do.

We all have gifts.. but what we choose to do with them is always going to be up to us.
