We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hannah Goering. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hannah below.
Appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Thank you so much for having me! It’s an honor.
Owning a business is a risk because everything sits on my shoulders. The results my clients get, the payroll of my team, the quality of the content we share, and the legacy I leave for my family. But I find that because I have had this entrepreneurial spirit since I was a young child, it would be an even bigger risk not to have gone down this path.
Risks are what help us move beyond our comfort zones. But you have to follow your intuition to know when you are teetering on the line between a limiting belief and a boundary. or between risking something to better your circumstance and stretch your comfort zone versus doing something wildly out of character that has negative potential outcomes.
But honestly, a risk is a risk because it could indeed lead to negative potential outcomes. So it’s important to think the options and then trust your gut. I took a risk by starting this business as I moved away from my successful health and life coaching company.
I take risks every day by being innovative in our strategy and teaching my clients the same.
You will have more opportunities to succeed when you get comfortable with taking risks.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Sure! I’d love to! For those of that don’t know me, my name is Meliss Jakubovic. I’m an Online Marketing Strategist and Business Growth Expert to Coaches and Healers. I have run Meliss Marketing for almost a decade and I am the Host of the Marketing Tips With Meliss Podcast which has over 450 episodes at the time of this interview. I also am the author of 4 books.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I love helping others sign more clients!
First, you’ll want to focus on who you are selling to and make sure that you understand their pains, frustrations, struggles, desires, pleasures, dreams, values, and goals clearly.
Then, make sure your offer is extremely powerful and will provide your dream clients with a wonderful transformation or result.
Next, you need to decide on your traffic source. This can be a social media platform, YouTube, your email list, in-person networking events, and so much more. Just pick 1-2 for now.
Provide lots of high-quality content that speaks to your audience and helps them achieve a small win.
Build relationships and offer your service to those that you know you can help and are a good fit.
Get on a discovery call with them and learn about their needs.
If it feels right, share your offer with them.
This process has been most effective for my company for years. There are several variations on this depending on your strategy, but when you scrape it down to the bones, this is most effective strategy to signing clients consistently.
A lot of times, people do part of this process or they change it up drastically. Sometimes they aren’t signing clients simply because they don’t stick to the process and they get discouraged when they don’t see results. Results happen when you do the work consistently. And the greatest thing is, that it doesn’t have to feel like work. Spreading your message with powerful content and meeting people who you know you can help and surrounding yourself with others from your industry feels aligned. And when you are in alignment, you will attract dream clients to you.
