We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nivea Voltran. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nivea below.
Nivea, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I manage my own business, which can be difficult at times when also simultaneously having a full time job.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have always been a very creative person. Growing up in Brazil, I used to do plays and I even thought I would do movies or a TV series and be a famous actress one day. When the pandemic hit, something inside me said that I needed to change and find something that I was very passionate about. So I started to create content for Instagram about maternity, about being an Afro latina mom, about my lifestyle, fashion and other things. I started to invest in courses and mentorship because I wanted to make sure I could create content where I could help other busy moms like me to navigate this crazy world where you want to be a good mom, but you also want to make sure you are looking out for yourself too.
On the internet, I give tips and ideas to any woman that struggles with their daily routines.
I also love to create funny and lifestyle content. I like to be myself and really share some of my struggles with my audience.
A large portion of my audience are Brazilians who live here in the US or Brazil. I have been living in the United States for over a decade and throughout the years people in Brazil have always asked me to bring products to them when I was going to Brazil. So I saw a business opportunity where I could help people in Brazil purchase products here. This year I opened Voltran Personal Shopper where I assist people in Brazil shopping here.
There are many products that are very cheap here compared to Brazil and it is worth buying here.
I love to be a personal shopper because I can help people and make them happy. I can particularly help first time moms with their baby shower shopping list. I can help people to purchase a product of their dreams and make that dream come true. I also help the Brazilian community here when they want to send gifts to their loved ones in Brazil.
How did you build your audience on social media?
As a content creator and also an audience, I like to connect with other people. I am building my audience by connecting with people and by helping them to solve their problems. I believe that the best way to build your audience is connecting in a very meaningful way. You need to ask the question: How can my content help others? People like to connect with people, so be yourself and show vulnerability because that will not only build your audience, but this audience will be there for you when you need them.
Also have patience and be consistent. You won’t grow 1000 followers overnight, but this growth will happen if you are always consistent online.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My clientele is growing by my reputation and by word of mouth. My positive reputation is because I am very honest and responsible with my clients. When people come to me, I give them all the attention they need and answer as many questions they need. I treat my clients the way I want to be treated. I have a good relationship with all of them.
My most effective strategy is a combination of excellent customer service and transparency.
