Laura, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

LaLa D&C was created by owner Laura Marie, a stylish and fearless entrepreneur. Starting as a country girl, she made the journey to NYC over 30 years ago to begin her journey as a Fashion Designer working for major brands and retailers. In 2021, with a love of fashion and art, LaLa D&C was born!
LaLa D&C is a contemporary fashion collection and design firm, we constantly provide you with the latest trends and styles. We also offers custom design services such as launching your apparel line, designing your logo, set up your Shopify website, design your line from concept to production, and assist with manufacturing. With a strong background in fashion and art, we can assist you in design of all sizes of Children’s Apparel, Women’s Apparel, accessories, giftware, artwork, production tech packs, line sheets, retail presentations as well as all other business services.
We love fashion. We love graphic design. Most of all, we love working with our many clients, which include BCBG Girls and Ralph Lauren Baby/Kids. Our work is exciting, demanding, outstandingly creative and most of all, a wonderful experience for all involved.
Our goal is to to inspire the dream of others and make them come true. Whatever world you are in, Let Me Design Your World! We want to make you look and feel beautiful in our LaLa D&C collection, this is our mission!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

LaLa D&C was created by owner Laura Marie, a stylish and fearless entrepreneur. Starting as a country girl, I made the journey to NYC over 30 years ago to began my journey as a Fashion Designer/Artist, designing for major brands and retailers. In 2021, with a love of fashion and art, LaLa D&C was born! It is our passion to make your dream come true with our design expertise, no matter if its a small business or a large corporate line, we are experienced in both. I am most proud of my new LaLa D&C Activewear line exclusive only at https://laladandc.store. I combined my love for art with my love for fashion, perfect combo.
I am also proud of helping people start their own business, I love to mentor and share all of my knowledge with others to help them make their dream come true. I also work with my Daughter Chloe Elaine, currently at University of Pittsburgh, who assists me in designing logos. I am proud to also work with her and inspire her to own her own business someday!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

In 2020, I was working in NYC for 30 years, when Covid shut everything down. I decided that I didn’t want to commute to NYC, and I have an auto-immune disease that I wasn’t comfortable traveling to NYC. I decided to open my own design firm, Lala Designs and Creations in 2020, and acquired many clients. this totally changed my life entirely.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

When I was 20 years also I was very very sick, I was alone in NYC going to Design School. I had almost died at least 3 times during my illness with Chrons Disease. During many of these occurrences I have always kept very positive. In fact I remember the DR saying you are the happiest patient I have ever had, at the time, I couldn’t walk, barely eat, lots of pain, but still kept positive and forged right on ahead. Through out all these years no matter what challenge I have had I always find the silver lining. This experience has shown me life is too short and you have to enjoy every minute it.
