Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Glenith Gomez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Glenith, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Definitely GG’s Custom Crafts has been my most meaningful project that I have worked on! Everything started some time ago in 2008 when I started attending to my current church and I received a word from God in a prayer group meeting that He deposited a huge responsibility in my hands but, I didn’t understand the message at that time. I always loved to create art and crafts since I was a child but, I never thought about doing it with a specific purpose in my life. I never thought I would create a business of custom wood crafts with my husband. In 2020, few months into the covid-19 pandemic. I was staying at home, which was the most common thing you could do so, I started restoring all my décor on my house and around my garden and suddenly I realized I needed a wooden service tray and I wanted it customized with a bible verse so, I started searching online for options and was disappointed to find out it will result to be very expensive then I remembered that my husband had some wood left over from other house projects so I talked to him and we started working with it; We made a beautiful wooden service tray (country style) with gate handles and I found a very nice sticker at the dollar store (Thessalonians 5:16) that I stuck it on the tray and we loved the results! This got me very excited thinking that we can share this idea with all my sisters and brothers in Christ and all my family and friends that would like to have the word of God in their home. We started cutting and assembling different styles for the wood trays and we looked for different handles and texts to share on them and It became an obsession and we also started to make different shapes of Wood Frames in blocks and planks and multiuse wooden boxes. Later on, we invested in new cutting machines and started including new wood pieces to our collections like wooden Candleholders, different sizes for Multiuse Wooden Boxes, Round Signs, Stove Covers, different styles of Keyholders, Coffee Stations and Bookmarks. This became our most meaningful project because we could share The Word of God through our pieces blessing others lives and bringing it to individuals and families with a word of hope, love, peace and joy in a way they can have a customized wood piece into their personal decorative styles.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My passion is making the customer ideas come to a reality creating a customized personalized wood piece with the details that was selected by the them in order to provide a unique customized piece resembling the desire of that person. Taking in a count the reason for the piece (weddings, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, engagements, group meetings, home decor, general decor, business signs, seasonal signs and etc. This became our most meaningful project because, we could share the word of God through our pieces with other people and share a blessing in their life’s. Bringing to an individual and their families a word of hope, love, peace and joy. Our specialty is to customize each wooden piece with the size, colors, text designs and finish desired by the customer according the options that I have and I think that is the details that sets us apart from others because taking into count the many aspects in order to have a final product that will be the closest to the customer ideas and that is the main goal that make our handmade pieces a unique customized wooden art.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative artist in my position, is to be able to make the customer ideas come to reality and bring it to a wooden piece (tray, frame, box, keyholder, bookmark, round sign, etc., with a meaning for them with the word of God, hope, joy, love or inspirational message.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started sharing my work when I created an extension of my personal FB account with a short video where I showed images of my wood work in process. Then, I started posting pictures of every final piece with a short caption describing the piece. Later, I included pictures and a video of the process of each piece after I finished them. I also created an Instagram account and I linked it with my Facebook and started posting my pieces. Now days we update our posts making reels with trending audios and videos and posting our pieces including ourselves in the work process. Using the tools available in the apps where we can tag the customer that ordered the pieces and giving them thanks for trusting us and using other tools where potential customers can communicate with us. Also, we like to post the crafted pieces in a story for the fast searching ppl in social media. We try to keep posting in the social media very so often where we can keep it up to date. We are still working on the company image and we will be releasing our logo and new way to promote our products soon.
