We were lucky to catch up with Keisa Moss recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Keisa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My appreciation for wine started simply from consumption. Pouring a glass of wine was a way for me to relieve from a stressful work day. Years passed, the wine began to intrigue me in a different way. The wine tools used to open the bottle and selecting a glass became fascinating. The history of wine piqued my interest, I wanted to learn more. I knew then this was a business and industry I wanted to be apart of. I wanted to provide a premium wine experience. I was and still am excited for launching my wine business. My business is where wine, education, accessories and events meet.
Keisa , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My background is sales, support and training. I’m a WHY and process person, it has to make sense to me. Before launching my wine business, I took a lot of time researching, studying and learning more about the industry. I still do this. I started my business with wine accessories, then my 1st varietal and formal wine education. I’m most proud of taking the initiative to challenge myself and start WSET, I’ve completed WSET1 and studying for WSET2 exam.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I know a few marketing guru’s that helped me. You have to stay in engaged with social media and email marketing. The key is consistency, even if you don’t have a post everyday. Engagement is important and interacting through comments and repost. Supporting others brands in your industry and networking. Building a presence on all platforms helps. I attended a lot of free seminars and I mapped out my social media pictures and content. Set aside time to know what you want to share on social media. The video content and blogs also are great. Provide short clips or a daily updates will support your story and timeline for your business. Lastly if you don’t want to do any social media, hire a company that can do it for you! Social media is a must when building a business.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The relationship with people. It’s all networking and learning the industry. I didn’t know anyone in the industry and I’m still meeting wonderful people. Intentional networking and attending events really helped. Some events I was a vendor and others I simply attended. Supporting others that you meet in the industry. Staying in my lane and keeping it simple. I don’t overthink it and I always do my best.
