Alright, Shantuey thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

The pandemic, I know right! During the pandemic it was a critical time for everyone. Including me I was laid off from my job of 3 years, literally 2 days before my daughter’s Solar Return day (Birthday). I remember driving home soaking in tears. I did this for 3 days straight with a party to plan. Until I took the initiative to start the process of starting my online boutique.

Shantuey , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a mother of a 10 year brilliant daughter and online boutique owner. Fashion has always been a passion of mines. It started off when I was toddler, ready and eager to dress myself. While ensuring each piece of clothing matched from head to toe. LOL Eventually I enrolled in college and obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.

What sets The Vault Brand apart from other businesses is that I understand being a consumer and a customer. So I am aware of both sides of the spectrum. I truly listen to my instincts. I’m not going to conform into anything that doesn’t suit my business needs just for instance gratification. I believe in taking my time and weeding out all possible obstacles.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?

I selling on my direct website https://shopthevaultbrand.com/ and Etsy. It’s great exposure to your business. Customers on Etsy gets a snapshot of your business through a micro lens. You’re bio, visible customer reviews( you don’t have to search for their invisible on your page) customers are more likely to make a purchase based upon customer reviews. I would definitely encourage those who want to start a business to have a Etsy account too.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Yes, right now! I am currently on a hiatus due to losing my mother last year. I quite haven’t found my motivational inspired yet to create content. So I am really pivot my full time job with a mainstreaming company as my priority focus.
