Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexis Minor Foster. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alexis , thanks for joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
If I could go back 10 years in the past, I most definitely would have started my business much earlier. I have been writing research papers for my peers for years, I had been creating the best resumes for years, for FREE, not realizing I had a talent. I should have known that I had a flair when producing resumes, because people would always say to me, “Alexis, how did you get that good job?” As if I, Alexis could not have a good job, but, my response would be, I applied, I sent over my resume and called them until they had no choice but to hire me. I put very specific details in the resumes I create, my resumes attract attention, they inform you, they paint a CLEAR picture of the candidate. I never thought I would be a business owner, doing what I love. I most definitely would have started A Touch of L’amour years ago, if I had known my success rates would be so high.

Alexis , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Creating my own resumes and my friend’s resumes is where the idea and motivation came from. I decided I should be compensated for my time and supplies and that’s where ATOL also known as A Touch of L’amour came in.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When the pandemic became everyone’s nightmare in 2020, it became a time to elevate for me. It made me realize, you never know what turns life will take, you now need to have a plan A, plan B, not the morning after pill, and a plan C. So many companies were not able to bounce back from the pandemic, however, many were started during the pandemic. Americans started to receive unemployment payments of $800 weekly, I lost my job in the beginning of the pandemic which made me eligible for unemployment benefits in which I took $150 – $200 out of each check to purchase supplies, my business license, etc. I obtained a job in Atlanta, Georgia, Buckhead specifically, I drove back and forth for months and continued to save money to purchase items needed for the business. My cousin Angela was starting her business as well, one day we woke up and proceeded to the County Courthouse to process our needed documents, and became business owners.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I use social media, however word of mouth has been the main source of networking for me.
