We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Indigo Phoenix a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Indigo, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
This year was a year of abundance. I started this year in the pursuit of my creative team and called it HUNTING season. While in search for a consistent manager, producer, and engineer I was able to create 3 singles in 3 eras. The singles reflect what I’ve gone through this year in my professional and platonic relationships. The very first single is entitled Breakthrough. Inspired by the great Mariah Carey’s Breakdown, Breakthrough is an inspiring R&B hit that motivates listeners to push past external and internal obstacles and pursue their endeavors relentlessly. Produced and engineered by @therealred_sparks The second single produced by @itsscaz is titled Prayer of the Phoenix. This single is a power ballad that is a literal prayer inspired by the adversity I’ve faced with friends and family. This single motivates me to remember my strength and where it comes from. The final and only unreleased track is ARROGANT. Don’t let the title mislead you this single is actually a troll track that promotes self love. I think I’m the best and YOU should feel the same about yourself.

My brand represents authenticity. Lead in love and be who you were created to be. I encourage everyone who is passionate about something to be disciplined in it and work your ass off for it! I’ve learned in this journey if you’re starving you have to hunt for your food don’t expect it fall in your lap. I look and sound like what I believe in
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
In my life there hasn’t been too many rooms where I’ve felt I belonged. My goal is to encourage people to pave their own way and create their own rooms. In my experience I’ve learned you’re never truly alone. There is someone out there that may be feeling the same way you do and you never know how your self love can encourage someone else. Unique- that’s what you are!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I wake up every single day with the power to make my dreams come true. Despite the obstacles these gifts helped make me into the man I am today and I wouldn’t trade my spiritual purpose for anything else
