We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ruby Doll a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m Ruby Doll a nickname given to me by my surrogate Mother, and mentor in Business. Also a nickname that my husband would refer to me as.
I am a Mompreneur, which means my children (or family) is always first. I created a brand and podcast, called MotherhoodSexMarijuana, where we discuss in a safe a judgefree zone, our beliefs, experiences, and lessons learned regarding the subject matter.
Of all my accomplishments, I am most proud to call myself a Radical Self Love Enthusiast. I offer consultation, events, workshops, that promote Radical Self Love in a society that embraces the opposite.
I am also an author, and am in the process of completing my first book which will couple an upcoming online course I would offer, entitled Practical Property Management. I offer my personal experiences, compiled after 7 years in the Property Management industry, and started off knowing knowing about it. I help others to understand simple ways to be more proactive than reactive, while abiding by laws that ensure the rights of others, while enjoying the perks can may come with responsibilities.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
My parents would constantly use the phrase “leai se tupe” “no money” in response to my requests and desires for things. I have removed these phrases from my vocabulary, and will ask myself…how can this be obtained?
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I remember having lost almost everything, and ended up in a shelter with my small children. I knew this was not a situation that defined me, and worked hard to make wiser financial moves, so that we could afford to leave that situation, Life will teach you more sometimes than any classroom or business situation. I think we (the children and I) learned to truly appreciate having each other, rather than our discomfort in the moment. We all sacrificed, and were forever changed.
