We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ivana Somorai. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ivana below.
Alright, Ivana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Thank you so much for being interested in our story! It was my pleasure to answer your questions.
The name RHYTHM ZERO is actually an ode to an artist who comes from the same country as us, an ode to a woman who managed to change and shake the world of art and performance. Her work explores body art, endurance, the relationship between the performer and audience, the limits of the body, and the possibilities of the mind.
A long time ago, when I came across one of her first performances, I immediately knew that that name was so special and so strong that one day my business will have the same name. And, here we are!
Ivana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As you may know, I and Alex are behind RHYTHM ZERO team – a coffee place, filled with a lot of art and beautiful flower installation made by our partners fLOVER.
Coming from a country where coffee has a long history, being surrounded by the art from an early age,
having a space where we crossed these two sides came completely spontaneously and oragnic.
It was not easy way to merge the museum’s appearance with hospitality such as the coffee business,
which requires the circulation of a large number of people every day.
It was very important to create a practical space for all customers, and still have certain items that are special and unique.
That’s why we decided to gave the furniture in our space a second chance and to extended the life of vintage pieces.
We were very lucky that people recognized our idea, our efforts and above all loved the coffee and croissants that we serve!
All our croissants are made in Milan, Italy, and we are baking them in-house every day.
They are always fresh and so delicious!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
We entered this journey with a lot of enthusiasm and love, we love people, we love to ask how they are, how their day went, we love to listen to people. We created a whole community of people who care about each other.
That was not a strategy, that is who we are.
We started this process with 0 strategies.
We started this process because we love what we do, and we appreciate the power of a community, and the reputation was born just like that.
Our plan for the future is to include more artists and present their works that will be accessible to everyone.
In addition, an important aspect of our business is sustainability, therefore we are switching all our disposable items to recycled and biodegradable materials, and in the spring we will have the first cleaning of Greenpoint.
Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
The current thing we are working on is our website. We live in a digital world and the service provided on a specific platform ( that is not Instagram or TikTok)
raises it to a higher level.
We are adding an e-commerce page, where you can buy vintage furniture, sculptures, and collaboration merch that we will do with artists.
We are also planning an app, but more will be said about that in the future!
