We recently connected with Candle Waves and have shared our conversation below.
Candle , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Our vision and dream started with 2 moms who feared not having a source of income to support their families and loosing their livelihood during the pandemic. We turned that fear into passion and determination and created Candle Waves. We came together to produce something that our grandmother would be proud. She was such an inspirational person in our lives and she loves candles. We wanted to share her Caribbean influence, strength and charm in every candle. Starting with our coconut wax, whose unique texture is soft enough to use on the skin and clean to our homes and environment, mixed with essential oils and all types of tropical scents and inspirations.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Our vision for Candle Waves came from growing up in a Caribbean family our Grandmother was the most loving and ultimate mom to all around her, with her strength and her charisma. Gave us, the will and determination to have a family and company who works hard and put our best in everything we do. The birth of Candle Waves became one of our babies that we have groomed and nurtured to produce the best quality coconut wax with essential oils and fragrances that is incredible. Candle Waves is 100% hand poured with love and handcrafted with the concern for our environment and homes. Candle Waves are phthalate-free which provides a clean and refreshing scent to inspire your mind, spirit and home. You will enjoy our finest and elite quality of our candles with our grandmother’s love poured throughout each and every candle.
Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
Starting from scratch not knowing any thing about candles making or how to manufacture one. After lots of research and time we were able to determine what vendors and companies we wanted to work with. We spent time and money testing using different candles already in the market to learn what we wanted and didn’t want to put into our candles. What we’ve learned after testing and sampling different candles, before you start to spend money and investing narrow down your search to exactly what you want your brand to be. For example, there are so many options on wax like Soy, Beeswax, Coconut, Parraffin and many more to choose from so we narrow our search to just coconut wax and focus on what vendors had the best quality for our brand.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
We have seen our best source of adding new clientele has been hosting and attending events where our potential clients can smell and see what great quality our candles provide. We can interact with our customers and get their feedback on the spot, it’s a great marketing and data analysis we find out what sells the most and what sells less. Also, what scents our customers favor and produce new products incorporating that scent while adjusting the ones that don’t sell as often
