We recently connected with CA$H CAM and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, CA$H thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to uplift other KC artists and bring us all together. I feel like artist here just don’t really network that much, everybody kind of just stays in there own lane. It seems a lot of the time artists don’t want to work together and I want to change that! I remember starting off and not many artists wanted to work with me. I had very little followers, and my music was different. I want to be the voice for artists that were just like me, and help them be able to connect with more artist just like myself. I go out and connect with artists, tell them about other artists, and just try to continue the cycle of networking for us all. We have to support each other and I think that’s the most important part.

CA$H, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started making music when I was 15 but I was always into music growing up. Growing up I played the violin, and saxophone and that’s when I fell in love with music. As a kid I was always trying to make songs for the violin and saxophone, writing in my notebook from school trying to create orchestra and band music that I could play at home. Getting older I started to use my voice. I started off writing raps and even started recording on my school laptop. I had no money as a teen so I had to make due with what I had. I ended up recording on GarageBand on the laptop with a karaoke machine microphone, and a pair of earbuds I got from a gas station. I had no real studio set up so I just made music in my bedroom. Fortunately I grew out of that phase and ended up going to a professional studio. From there my confidence and love for music making grew. I’ve been all around the country now making music, and connecting with local artists and fans from all over. Doing shows and filming music videos in places like Atlanta, Phoenix, and most importantly my hometown of Kansas City. I have over 200,000 total views on all music platforms. I just have fun doing what I love and I want to inspire others around the world to do the same.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I think the most important part in building an audience is actually connecting with people. Going out of your way to show people that you care about them and giving them something for them to care about you. You got to ask yourself why should people listen to my music? Why should they care? Giving people your story through your craft will give them that reason. That’s what I did to gain what I’ve gained so far. Just being real with people and actually caring. That’s just one of the many things I did to build connections. Another way is just getting out there. Telling people about you and what you do. Going to local events and connecting with other artists and fans. Posting a lot on social media helps as well. Being consistent is one of the biggest things in my opinion. Being consistent with posting and the quality of posting

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think being professional is the key to building your reputation. Just really being about your business and just doing what you say you’re going to do. Like if you have payments to other creators that are due, just getting those paid on time and what not. Being on time for events is big as well. Just being a real genuine person and businessman can go a long way. I also feel like having the professional look goes a long way as well. Having professional photos and videos on social media just allows more people to take you seriously. I feel like small things like that can really build your rep within your field.
