We recently connected with Drip Kultur and have shared our conversation below.
Drip, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission was to provide a service that’s suitable for up and coming entertainers with budgets small and large. To provide customers with high end fashion at a decent cost. To provide a way for clients and entertainers to purchase jewelry that won’t break the bank and for them to have that “celebrity feeling”.
Drip, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Born in Indiana, currently based in Dallas, Tx. I grew up loving hip hop, jewelry and fashion. My influencers were Master P, Cash Money Records, Pimp C & Bun B, T.I and twista just to name a few. I became a hip hop recording artist in 2012 which landed me on national tv with a live performance on The Bill Cunningham Show(cw network). 2018 I started my clothing line( Drip Kultur Clothing) which gained success early on with Lil Keed and Young Thug(Young Stoner Life) being the first ever to wear my brand. Soon after, it became a household name. Celebrities such as The Youngbloodz( Jbo & Sean Paul), Dc Youngfly, Jason Mitchell, Lil Scrappy, Syi Ari The Kid, Dj Markthespot, Derez Deshon, Karlous Miller and more were soon to be seen in Drip Kultur Clothing.
I starred in my first major film “Everything Is Both” written by JaQuavius Coleman starring Jason Mitchell, Barton Fitzpatrick, JJ Green and Stakia Washington.
I recently started up a jewelry company( Drip Kultur & Co.) which specializes in custom pendants, necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings for men, women and children.
I got into the entertainment, fashion and jewelry industry because I’ve always had a passion for them. I wanted to open a outlet for those that can’t reach major labels, high end jewelers and designer fashion. Giving them the opportunity to be a celebrity within themselves.
I’m most proud of me becoming a household name( Drip Kultur) and being recognized by many. Ambition, dedication and my failures drove me to work harder and to become a better individual at heart. I also offer one on one consultations with helping individuals establish a unforgettable presence and to be motivated to strive for more in life.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media starting off with Facebook. Facebook allowed me to interact and engage with potential clients. Becoming friends and associates with individuals and building trust. I then transitioned over to instagram in which my Facebook friends started following me, I also used the Clubhouse app to further my engagement with clients that were already in the industry. Allowing me to introduce my brand to rooms of people ranging between 200 and 2000 people in one room. My Instagram grew expeditiously. Over time I grew my audience to over 20k followers. Connecting with celebrities simply by commenting on their post “let me design some drip for you”. This is how I got Lil Keed and Young Thug to wear my merch. To sum it up, I wasn’t scared to talk in front of a large audience or be afraid to directly contact potential customers.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I remained true to myself, humbled and dedicated. I took risk that most are scared to take. By being genuine And fair, I made it comfortable for others to work with me and want to work with me.
