We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Summer Chrissiana. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Summer below.
Alright, Summer thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Media is the medium. Performing and being in the spotlight came natural to me. Not only did doing beauty pageants as a child and modeling in my preteens and teenage years help with confidence, public speaking and poise, these events also prepared me for my future passion and dream career of being a television host, YouTuber and entrepreneur!
I knew I wanted to pursue a creative profession when I was in school and I realized no other subjects interested me as a student. Of course I was a good student, all A’s, turned in my work on time, rarely late but nothing compared to when I
was in the news room before class writing reports about school activities, researching the weather for the week, learning the sound board, fixing my hair and outfits for anchoring and practicing the script before we aired. Media helped me to see the World on a different perspective.

Summer, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Growing up, participating in beauty pageants and modeling as a child gave me confidence and experience working as a team. In middle school I began curating and anchoring the televised morning news announcements for the entire school to watch. I enjoyed the production process and leadership responsibilities that came with representing myself and the school at the time. In high school, I prepared for a college career in media and entertainment. Upon attending Georgia Highlands for my associates degree, I began an internship with The Specialists Television. This opportunity gave me the ability to develop my media personnel skills and curate my brand, “Summer Chrissiana”. I was taught interviewing basics, created my introduction and outroduction, networked with high end talents, and made my first step on the media industry into the real world. My first interview was with R&B artist Elite Noel, Keshia Cole’s sister. Overtime I hosted interviews with Prodigy of Mindless Behavior, local artists, jingle writers, entrepreneurs, and more through the platform Urban Music Report: ATL. The show was broadcasted on Comcast and Tubi. Shortly after, I began building my YouTube channel to promote my media talents and act as a media portfolio for potential guests and clients.
The confidence, inspiration and experience I gained being in the media field, prompted me to create my movement, More Than A Model Workshop. I obtained my limited liability corporation, Summer Chrissiana LLC, and organized my first workshop event for my business. MTAMW is a social movement that encourages confidence and togetherness through educational workshops and community service for leading creatives in the media and entertainment industry. My business bridges the gap between community and entertainment by inviting established individuals to educate and connect with talents looking to get into the media and entertainment industry. We offer community service projects, educational workshops , interviews and networking events. MTAMW provides a safe environment to gain knowledge, invest in the community and build confidence.
What sets Summer Chrissiana LLC., apart from other media personnel is my genuine and lively spirit, passion for the subject, and research method I use when preparing. I am most proud of obtaining my associates degree from Georgia Highlands College and bachelors degree from Kennesaw State University. Receiving my degrees is a reminder that I persevered and invested in myself to hone my craft. I want potential clients to know that I understand the hard work it takes to grow, fund and maintain a media career and dream business. Choosing my platform to highlight their business and creative works is appreciated and much honored.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Creating a lifestyle from my passion is my goal. During the process, I plan to create generational wealth for my future family and financial happiness for myself. Media is my passion and is found everywhere. There is and will always be a need for media.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Do what makes you happy. Follow your passion and don’t just chase the dollar. I have too many times seen peers, family and friends partake in jobs or career paths that they weren’t passionate about. Going to a job that doesn’t make you happy becomes miserable and takes a toll on your mental health, body and spirit overtime. The traditional teaching of “go to college, get a good paying job, get married, start a family” is not the only thing to look forward to in life. I love to see that my generation has created so many business owners and non-traditional job positions.
