We were lucky to catch up with Amiel de La galerie de l’Amour recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Amiel de thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
In art, it’s not about learning the craft. It’s about knowing that you are meant for something and that thing is your mission… Art is more than a craft, it starts with a dream, it becomes a vision that you feed with love, hope, endless effort and sacrifice until it becomes for you CLEARLY VITAL. Art is the highest level of research and personal development.
There is no craft to learn, there is a potential to be understood and fully realised. It takes time, art is not art without maturity like unripe fruit ! Whoever tries to speed up the process is the first to give up. There is no shortcut, no matter how skilled you are ! “The more skillful you are, the more you will be doubted, the more skillful you are, the more you will be challenged… The more skillful you are, the more prepared you must be…”

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a low-key simple kinda guy, founder and art director at La galerie de l’Amour. The hardest thing to do for me is talk about myself, it’s harder than art 😅.
I always tried to understand what love is… The theme of love is more than a topic for me, everything I do is based on this theme with a little dark side as my motto is : “No matter how dark the moment, love is always possible”.
I have seen so many people suffer in love (including my own parents) that very early on I realized the importance of understanding love because I promised myself not to fail in love. And art is just a way to better understand love, to elevate myself and realize my potential. I don’t just feel like an artist or an art director, I don’t care about the titles !
That’s why and how La galerie de l’Amour (which means The Love gallery), the Love brand and what I called “The Love project” were created.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
“Fall down 7 times, stand up 8″… You probably know that motivational quote. You’ll fall down at least 1000 times and art want to see what you do when you feel KO. Will you stand up again or will you give up ?
The Love project started when I was 19, I’m 33 today, I started from 0 and went through a lot. I think my resilience can be seen, felt, almost touched in my art. It can’t be told through a story because resilience is not a given, it must be proven every day.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being real, being you and not playing a role is the new success.
