Shanice, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
Starting a business is no easy feat and there is a ton of behind-the-scenes work that gets done before you get your first real client! You spend hours , building up your social media & online presence, working with family & friends to perfect your process & procure content with no real guarantee that anyone will actually be able to find you, let alone want to pay for your services. The first few of my clients I meet at a pop up shop and referrals.

I personally would travel all the time, either solo or with family and friends. My family and friends would always reach out to me to help them put trips together, so becoming a travel agent was seamless, but this time around, I am getting paid to do what I absolutely love. How’d you meet your business partner?
Tatiana Tucker is the Owner of Travel with Tatiana. I met Tatiana through social media on Instagram, where both of our passion is to build a legacy in travel. One year later, in business we would discuss strategies to utilize our skill sets to make our impact.I never knew we would become the best business partners that wanted a better future!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Networking is a big part of growing your clientele and I go about that in different ways. The method that has helped me the most is using social media. I use Instagram, Tiktok, & Facebook on a daily basis where I create/upload content, keep my followers up to date on events/things that I may have going on, and I also connect with my current/new clients through there. Another way that has helped me tremendously is attending events around the city or other areas. As I like to tell people, “treat your social media page as part of your job and talk to people because you never know who you are going to meet.”
