We recently connected with Giselle Araujo and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Giselle, thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.

I think everyone is afraid of taking risk. I mean you going to the unknown, you have no idea if you will be successful or not. I think that was one of the the things that. hold me back for many years years because at that time I was a single mom working two jobs trying to survive. I needed that secured income. It wasn’t until i faced my fears that I started working on my business part time and after I secured some money and I was able to pay my bills for a few months is when I decided to quit my job for good and focus on my business Party King Miami full time.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I started in the fireworks business about 21 years ago when I walked into a firework tent and I was amazed how was the set up and the happy faces I saw on the customers. I can tell you that you have to be persistent, committed to your business as if you were working for someone else. If you are working for someone else and they give you directions or give you a task you are going to do it specially if you a deadlines, you have to work in your business the same way. Set deadlines each day even if your work 30 minutes on your business it’s better than nothing. I believe that what makes us aside from others is that we travel to China and visit our factories we make sure the factories we work with are up to code and people are working in good conditions, we also have a demo shoot so we pick the BEST of BEST fireworks effects. We really focus on low prices ad since we import directly from China we cut the middle man and pass that savings to our customers. Please note that just because we try to maintain low prices we don’t sacrifice quality. Fireworks are hazard material so quality is very important to us for everyone safety.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

I started working as a seasonal employee in a tent as a manager with my children, they were really small my daughter that is 20 couldn’t even walk I had to take a playpen, two seat stroller and a lot of toys to keep my children occupy. I believe that even though I was ready to open my own business i was not mentally ready for all the challenges that come in running a successful business. You definitely need to start from the bottom, bottom and slowly you build up Nothing absolutely nothing is build in one day. Work everyday be consistent and committed .

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I lost everything back in 2014, I had to rebuild myself and recreate myself. I learned in those years how to humble myself and start from zero. That was really hard, they were many times I wanted to quit but I never forgot my Why. You need to have a why and those days that everything seems to be going wrong you need to look at yourself in the mirror and reflect on how far you are now and there is no going back and you have a reason why you need to continue.
