We were lucky to catch up with JaQwannia Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.
JaQwannia, appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
The day that changed my life was when I finally took a risk at quitting my job at the time to focus on becoming a personal trainer. During my weight loss journey, I worked multiple jobs and when I finally received my Personal Trainer certification, I wanted to take my career as a trainer more serious. I was very terrified at the thought of not being able to provide for myself. I knew in my heart and mind that I wanted something different for my life. Taking that risk allowed me really understand how important it is to have faith in myself. Within the first few months of my new career change, I was able to gain enough clients and make more income!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is JaQwannia Brown and I am a ISSA Certified personal trainer specializing in functional strength training and conditioning, nutrition and glute training. After years of being inconsistent with my weight loss journey I began taking things seriously in 2020 during the pandemic. There were many days that I wanted to quit but my drive to achieve my goals out weighed the distractions in my personal life. At that time, I really didn’t know what direction I wanted to go with my future and my career but my passion for personal fitness and training was always growing and consist.
My passion for helping people to discover what lies beneath the baggage and trauma that we put ourselves through has always been a strong suit of mine. Because I was able to overcome my own challenges to dust off the things blocking my shine I too wanted everyone to experience their own glow up of a lifetime and feel better in their own skin. Getting certified as a personal trainer has been my avenue for servicing those that feel like it to late to turn things around. I love what I do and it is my mission to bring out the light that is within all of us with my Jae Glow Fitness program to see you succeed in your ULTIMATE fitness glow up!
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
By networking in person and promoting myself on social media sharing my story.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back, I definitely believe that I would choose this fitness trainer profession.I’ve been able to learn so much about bettering others as well as my on life. Also, doing a better job of being consistent and really sticking to the plan.
