We were lucky to catch up with O.G. QUEST recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, O.G. thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I’ll say, the most meaningful project that I worked on would have to be my debut Ep. Title “She Knows”. Which is set to hit all streaming platforms this April-May time line. The backstory to the project is one many people can relate to. “She Knows”, come from a place of remembrance and also serves as a reminder to ones ex’s or situational partner. That, no matter who you decides to move on to, you will never forget the bond we shared. The reason why, “She Knows” is meaningful to me is simply because of the truth expressed in each song.
O.G., love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My Artist name is O.G.Quest which means life is one giant quest, just like my journey to making music. How I got into doing music is actually because of my mom. She pushed me to learned how to play an instrument. After awhile I fell in love with playing my saxophone, I had developed a deeper understanding of the music notations. Then after that the rest is history’s, went from playing instruments, to making beats, to finally rapping to the beats I made. What sets me apart from most of the other artists in the industry is my business mindset. I took the time to learned the game before i started to play it.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
My view on NFTs are from a fly on the wall perspective. I can see how this could be another game changing moment in industry like streaming was to CD’S. My only concern is at the moment I can only see artist’s that has already developed a name for themselves benefiting the most from it at this moment.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I would say the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is seeing all your hard work paying off. I’m talking about those late nights, early morning working 2 (9-5). just to do a one song set. Then flipping that opportunity into doing 5-10 min set.
