Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gerardo Escudero Samara. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Gerardo, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid’’. Said Albert Einsten.
The traditional and orthodox educational system has not changed since the last century, I believe that it is a crime to keep creating spaces where students with different types of intelligences receive academical orders to achieve ‘’standard goals’’ that evaluate them as they were the same beings. I do believe that we are unique human beings and we all have different forms of intelligence, and the majority of students do not freely develop the mindset to achieve their dreams, but the mindset to become what society establishes that is ‘’Correct’’ when, where, and how.
I had a meeting with James Gazzard, the director of ICE Cambridge University in Madingley Hall in 2018, he was explaining me how they are changing entirely the standard educational system in order to keep up with the new accelerated way that human kind is evolving.
I do believe that we are all Geniuses, and I have a TED Talk about it: https://www.ted.com/talks/gerardo_escudero_samara_todos_somos_unos_genios

Gerardo, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Sure. I’m involved in several projects that aim to create meaningful impact through innovation and creativity.
With Crystal Apple Media, I lead a team that helps small businesses and organizations grow their digital presence using storytelling, technology, and strategy. We focus on creating authentic content and campaigns that connect with real people.
Empower Natives is a project that’s very close to my heart. It’s focused on supporting Indigenous communities through practical education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable agriculture. The goal is to open opportunities where they’re most needed, while respecting and preserving culture and identity.
And with Universum VR, we’re building immersive virtual reality experiences that offer entertainment with depth. The idea is to use cutting edge technology not just for fun, but to create moments that spark emotion, awareness, and imagination.
Across everything I do, the common thread is purpose. I care deeply about building things that serve, inspire, and hopefully make a small difference in the way we live and relate to one another.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I read (actually listen) 6 books a month, I listen to podcasts, songs, motivational speeches, and stories in order to feed my entrepreneurial spirit, in order to strengthen my mind and feed my soul. There are great human beings that some of them I call friends and mentors that have helped me grow and enhance my life`s mission like: Daymond John, Tony Robins, Matthieu Ricard, Tom Bileyu, Sam Berns, and of course my mother Sainab Samara and my father Gerardo Escudero Columna.
I discovered my life’s mission when I was 7 years old, and that it is: ‘’ to become the living proof that dreams come true and help other to achieve their dreams’’. I will never give up and I am working smart and hard every minute of my life.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I thought that when we try something we must do it the ‘’best and perfect way and form that you can possibly do’’, and the problem with this mindset is that you overthink and it feeds your fears and your excessive thoughts that causes barriers, and all these makes your progress to slow down. Life has thought me that if you think too much to take the next step, you will remain all your life on one foot.
So, I developed a way of doing things 10x faster by:
1) Target 10x times bigger goals than a ‘’normal human being’’ would think of.
2) Calculate how many hours, days, months, years that enormous targets would require to achieve.
3) Take MASSIVE amounts of IMPERFECT actions over and over again until results are achieved.
