We recently connected with Jacqueline Herrera and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacqueline, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope that my legacy will be that I made people feel beautiful in their own skin. I have so many clients (myself included) that pick themselves apart when they are already absolutely gorgeous! I hope to make others feel comfortable, loved and give them the tools and services they need to feel the best they possibly can in their own skin.
Jacqueline, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Jacqueline Herrera, I am a licensed medical esthetician in Scottsdale AZ and just recently moved here from San Diego CA. I became an esthetician shortly after receiving my bachelor’s degree because of my love for skincare and beauty. I specialize in custom facials for all skin types and really take my time giving the skin the nurture and love it needs. I take a non-abrasive approach and focus on building the skin barrier. I work under a medical doctor so I am able to use and retail products by Environ which focuses on Vitamin A. One of the problems I solve is giving the skin the true nourishment and compassion it needs by doing lots of facial massages, light cream peels for each treatment to help with skin cell turnover, and customized medical-grade masks to heal and treat. I am most proud of the 60+ five-star reviews that I have worked so hard for! All my clients truly become like a family to me and I work diligently to help each and every one of them reach their skincare goals.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My story started off in San Diego where I was pretty much raised all my life. Given that I obviously had a huge support group, lots of great girlfriends and family who would bend over backward to spread my name all around town and truly helped me build my little business from the ground up. When covid came I shut down and decided to take those two years to travel with my husband and wait for the world to go back to somewhat normal life. When we relocated to Scottsdale I knew absolutely no one and only really had my google reviews and a passion. I started working in a MedSpa for 3 months prior to being on my own again, and the values of trying to sell, sell, and sell to the customer products and services that I didn’t even believe in just didn’t feel right. I decided to go back to being solo and although the progress has been slow I am hoping that my resilience will land my business in the best position it’s ever been!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Building your reputation truly comes solely by word of mouth. My clients know that I pour my heart and soul into each person through their facials and over conversations. You won’t be loved by everyone but as long as you are doing the best you can, and being the best person you can be, that’s all you can ask from yourself.
