We recently connected with Dominique Vicedomine and have shared our conversation below.
Dominique, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My father was a single oil and gas engineer my whole life raising just me so it was just me and him until I was 18. Because of him I am the person I am today that I can be proud of. My biggest lessons were in confidence, ingenuity, bravery, and execution in planning. Because of that slowly but surely I’ve built an empire I can stand on and be proud of. Thank you, Dad.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Much unlike my father, I have a creative brain and college wasn’t for me. I took up bartending seriously after it just being a job to pay my bills and found a serious passion for the craft. I moved through the industry quickly and picked up many friends I found were creative like me, thus formed bARTenders The Art Show, a creative art exhibition for service industry professionals who contribute to outside of work artistic passions like painting or music.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
This one is important to me. Keeping a positive attitude and (I’ll emphasize this) a LOVING HAPPY team is the best business model. In the words of Ted Lasso, you have to believe. Facing all challenges and deniers with positivity and love is the best way to keep your family motivated and looking forward to the future. Manifestation is key and without belief there is no dreaming of what could be. I whole heartedly believe the best management style is in positivity and happiness. A happy home is a happy life even in the face of adversity.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Competition is only in your head. Learning that you are only competing against yourself was my biggest lesson. Comparing yourself to others will be your downfall. Gotta just focus on yourself and what you’re working on with all your heart and the rest will follow on it’s own. Variety is a good thing and builds a community that can help support you as well.
