In our view there is already a ton of coverage of the trends that ivory tower professors and billionaire fund managers are seeing. What’s the edge in hearing the billionaire consensus view over and over again?
The edge comes from hearing new perspectives and new information like from the wedding planner who has worked with hundreds of couples during the pandemic and has noticed that couples are allocating significantly more of their wedding budgets on “small details” like personalized neon signs and eco-friendly customized digital invitations rather than paper invites. Or the accountant seeing how there’s a huge uptick in ecommerce clients generating revenue from in person popups.
Below, you’ll find some of the most thoughtful entrepreneurs and creatives in across various industries and markets sharing the trends they are seeing.

The biggest trend that I’m seeing in my industry is the takeover of iPhone content. Cell phone cameras are now able to create great content that will actually compete with consumer, prosumer, and professional camera gear. If a person knows what they are doing, their camera phone can compare to a professional camera when it comes to certain aspects. Nowadays we can shoot RAW from the iPhone, edit via Lightroom or Photoshop mobile, and have an incredible photograph that is almost on par with the flagship pro cameras. Read more>>

As Miami’s only Board-Certified Professional Organizer® and a member of the industry for the past 15 years, I keep up to date on trends throughout the world by following my colleagues on social media to see what everyone is working on. Aerial photography and virtual tours are more popular now than ever. Both technologies aren’t new, but in recent years, they have become a regular part of real estate photography. The trends of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) has shaken up the B2C and gaming worlds, so it’s exciting to see that it’s also influencing the B2B space as companies have become more savvy about working remotely. At Zenput – where we focus on Operations execution software for restaurants, convenience stores, and grocers – our customers are often moving from tracking critical procedures like food safety protocols with pen and paper to digital solutions that will help execs know if work in each store is being done correctly. And given the labor shortage the industry is facing, there’s a big push to automate tasks which we also enable. Read more>>

The biggest trend I’m seeing in publishing is the increase in writers who are requesting Black editors, specifically Black female editors. Some of the major traditional publishers are finding freelance editors to outsource editing projects to because Black writers are asking for Black representation. They want editors who will not rewrite their story or misunderstand their language or misinterpret what they are actually saying. Many of them have also expressed their frustration with having to explain things as simple as “Madea,” or why the nape is called “the kitchen,” or any number of simple phrases or expressions.
