We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Becca Roses a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Becca, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
Setting up my practice was a really fun process. I know most people don’t equate establishing their practice with fun, but I am a firm believer in having fun in everything you do. The main steps I took first were getting certified in my field of Epigenetics, founding my LLC, purchasing my domain and claiming my social media handles when I had named my company, and then all the behind-the-scenes marketing like branding and website design. There were a lot of conversations with friends in business and my support system during that time which made the process feel really special.
When I started Mind Body Genes, the hardest part was coming up with the name. I feel like it’s something we can get hung up on. Naming your practice, finding the perfect logo, going with the right branding colors, etc. Those parts can feel daunting and permanent so my biggest piece of advice for someone who might be considering starting their own practice would be this: Have a Beginner’s Mindset!! It doesn’t have to be PERFECT. Your passion will come through. We all start somewhere and you can’t get to where you want to go if you don’t START.

Becca, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Certified Epigenetics Human Performance Coach. I am also certified in leadership & development, & include several modalities into my practice such as meditation, human performance & mindset hacks.
I have trained and taught high achievers for most of my professional life and now I intertwine what I have learned about those people into my unique Mind Body Genes approach.
High-achievers and busy people are usually the last ones to take a break and the last ones to put themselves first. I know from struggling with my own health after complete burnout that this is more costly and detrimental in the long run.
With the right tools and your Genetic Blueprint, you can have the life and the health you can imagine. Embodying who I am at the core along with my genes helped me to tap into and become the highest version of myself. And now my job is to help others do the same thing because I fully believe that with your mind, body, & genes it’s not just possible, it’s inevitable.
I provide my clients with custom wellness solutions tailored to them based on their genes. These are sustainable solutions that are not a one size fits all approach. We truly get in touch with their health foundations through learning about their own genetics. It’s a game changer for someone who is tired of the trial-and-error wellness approach.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I have heard this word used to describe me more times than I can count. A story from my journey that illustrated resiliency has to be my own health journey. It’s what led me to this line of work in the first place. A few years ago I was struggling with my health. Nothing I was doing was working to help with my energy, brain fog, thyroid symptoms, etc. But doctor after doctor kept telling me that everything looked “normal”. I am not the type to give up and I believe in knowing our own bodies so I kept digging. I found out through the help of a holistic provider that I was experiencing Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and that opened my eyes to using lifestyle and nutrition as medicine. I was able to put my Hashimoto’s in remission and began my journey to study the genes. I knew this was the missing piece of the puzzle for not only myself but for many. My own resiliency in my healing led me to heal myself and also start my own practice to help others find true healing. So whatever you do, don’t give up.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think just showing up as ME and not trying to be someone else. You will encounter people along the way that don’t like what you are saying or doing, but you have to remind yourself why you are doing this work. When you let your authenticity and passion for what you do shine through in your work (online and in person) then the rest will follow. I believe that people follow genuine people who they can trust, not just the service or product that is being provided.
