We recently connected with Wayne Flint and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Wayne thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project that I have worked on are the digital art compilations. This artwork combines photos into one art piece. The ability to bring together the past and present to life in one artwork. Capturing great grandparents with their present-day great grandchildren a family reunion that represents generations and generations in one place. Our lives are so busy that bringing our loved ones together is immensely difficult but this connection can be made in digital form. 8 photos of 8 separate family members that may reside allover the world can live in one place via my compilatiion digital art. Uniting families on canvas is an unexplainable since of joy and meaning- the pandemic taught us the importance of family bonds and togetherness or it reinforced our isolation/anti-social behaviors. Human beings are social creatures-therefore my purpose is to bring us together-> young and old, black and white, past and present, legacy and future, family and friends. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with countless people that are inspired by my work and brings meaning to their lives.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Wayne Flint a Digital Painter. I am inspired by the past legends that laid down their lives for the freedom and justice of minority communities, the talented souls that were and are able to discover their purpose beyond the negativity that streams into our culture 24/7, Even the inspiration of nature puts life into perspective- material desires vs. simplicity of life. Throughout these past years of dealing with ‘life storms’, I was able to find the ‘sunshine’ through my artwork-how can I change the negative depiction of African American community, highlight our achievers, propagate our story as told by us. In this darkness, I discovered my purpose. It has expanded to global appreciation of Humanity in all its shapes and forms. I capture clients hearts through their valuable and precious photos and memories of loved ones that they want to immortalize on canvas, celebration of their accomplishments and achievements, and uniting and restoring the importance of families and friends. My passion is to reignite the priceless meaning of family that we have lost in our busy lives chasing the dollar to make ends in meet or the mission to keep up with the Jones. I am Wayne Flint- more than just an artist–> curator of Culture for Humanity.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Society needs to invest in the creative ecosystem. This investment should start in our education system from elementary to high school from the poorest school districts to the richest school districts. Just like football and baseball is in the fabric of American life-why not make that same investment and resources in the creative ecosystem. Imagine using our own homegrown talents to explore answers to the challenging social questions of our day. Could this therapeutic investment help to curtail gang violence, youth delinquency, suicide/mental health, social media addiction, teen pregnancy, drug and drinking behaviors, and etc. This is a necessary societal experiment. Instead of investing in the juvenile to prison complex system: more guns, more police, more jails, use that investment in building productive, well-rounded humans that extends from youth to old age as in school system, community sponsored clubs, civic programs, small business administration grants to establish a strong infrastructure.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being driven by how the work impacts others’ lives. No longer do the hours to produce the work is equivalent to the price of the work-the meaning for my clients is priceless. Thus this is the most rewarding aspect of being an artist.
