We recently connected with Martin Dunn and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Martin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Everything I do is self taught , I learned how to rap by studying the greats and creating a sound unique to me. Knowing what I know now what I could have done to speed up My learning process was purchase all the pieces needed for a home studio like the ones i have in my home now. Not only does that help save money on studio time but it also helps with sharping my pen a lot faster.

Martin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a Rap Artist , a Podcaster , and Entrepreneur. Iv’e always known deep down that working a 9-5 was never where i fully saw myself. My Mother wanted me to go to college but when i finally did it i realized that i’m only going to college to impress my mother so i dropped out and fully committed myself to working on Financial freedom my own way. What sets me apart from everyone else is i’m truly not afraid to be criticized. I just don’t care about outside opinions that not helping me grow as creator. Because of that through the years iv’e gotten better and better, my writing style has gotten sharper. From the way i pick out beats to the way i come up with topics for my Longer Than A Decade podcast. I’m most proud of the fact that i never gave up, no matter how many times I’ve wanted to. I want the fans to know that im still here, Still me, Still Creating and most important im still hungry for success as i ever been.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2016 I badly damaged the Blood Vessels in my Vocal cords. I had to see a specialist just to get the treatment i need to get back in the studio. Because of this injury i lost the will to rap let alone write music. I was also going through one of the worst breaks up ive ever dealt with at the same time. Music was my only escape and i couldn’t write or talk, by the time my voice healed it was already the end of the year. i wasted 12 months. 5 months later in 2017
I released an album Titled “Project Jewels” which included one of the biggest songs iv’e created opening many many opportunities called “Chapter 23”

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Allow great music to be promoted on major platforms playlist for free if the song is truly liked. Have better avenues to help independent artist who don’t have major label money backing them.
