Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maximiliano Carrillo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Maximiliano, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I learned how to do photography in high school. I took a photography class all my years of high school, from there I started sharing my work on Instagram. Over time I learned how to optimize my social media growth. Learning more about how social media worked and would of token more risks on making different types of posts to see what worked and what didn’t. Not sure if you would consider consistency a skill, but that did play a big part. Having to go to school five days a week and working part time.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a 21 year old that does content creating as a side hustle now. I got into this industry by accident as I would put it, started off as posting my photography of automotive vehicles in school. As the years went on my social media presents started to grow, so do my skills started to improve. The main problem I had on my up bringing was that I was teenager thrown into an adult world. I do believe that it did help my page grow because my followers were seeing the be hind the scenes of what it took for me to get myself out there. What I’m most proud from doing this is hitting ten thousand followers and views and likes spreading like wild fire. It felt like all the hard work I put in high school and after I graduated paid off. It might not seem like anything, but I grew up not having much living in the hood with being bullied all through my school life.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
I started funding my own business when I get serious about doing photography as a hobby. I already knew I had to get a part time job to buy my first camera. From there I started to charge for my photo shoots & ended making my money back in a year since I wasn’t charging a lot at the time. Over the years I started to invest my money into buying lenses, adobes software, a laptop, & paying for trips of events that had to do with photography. I expanded my reach to a clothing brand to make more money to help sustain my business. As of today it’s still going & I’m still learning.
