There’s a concept of the Matthew Effect which uses math to illustrate what folks have lamented about for thousands of years – the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Take tech for example – the rich and poor often have different problems, but because it’s more profitable to solve problems for the wealthy a disproportionate share of tech innovation focuses on solving problems for the affluent. However, it doesn’t have to be this way – and we have been blown away by the thousands of members of our community who have devoted their lives through their businesses, organizations and art to serve the underserved.

I create a number of products for people with allergies and irritant sensitivities. Although we can’t make claims that a soap has medicinal properties or can cure an ailment, most people have learned what they need in their personal products from a medical professional and I provide basic skin care with a personal touch. Representing and serving the underserved in film is an important step in creating a more inclusive, diverse and equitable society. We create stories to show the world diverse perspectives and experiences, and that remind viewers of the humanity that connects us all, film. I can use film to give voice to those who have been traditionally overlooked or stereotyped, and to amplify the stories of those who have not been heard. Read more>>

Since the 1980s, when insurance companies began paying prescription claims directly to pharmacies, uninsured patients have progressively paid more and more for prescription medications. This is a result of the unfair contracts signed between insurance carriers and the pharmacies themselves. Because of how the contracts are written, pharmacies are all but forced to charge uninsured patients exorbitant prices in order to maximize insurance payments on the insured patients. Read more>>

In my heart and soul I truly believe we are all in this together. Each on their own individual journey. It is extremely important that I continue to give back to those in need, and stay active in my community. I am always looking for more opportunities to this. I donate my time to many Arizona charities. I facilitate sound ceremonies, and help wherever needed. Furthermore, I make sure to donate to as many charity auctions as possible. Read more>>

In 2017 I started to specialise in eating disorder recovery and worked for a private eating disorder recovery clinic in London. In the three years that I worked there, I didn’t see a single black client. Read more>>

The beauty industry has become more inclusive in just about every arena but anti-aging. Currently, the beauty industry treats anti-aging as a one-size-fits-all phenomena. All of the ads feature women with fair complexions, with products focusing on preventing/minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. These just aren’t issues that women with melanin struggle with because we age differently. Melanin skin is more susceptible to dryness, uneven tone and hyperpigmentation, The beauty industry has ignored that fact, so we are largely underserved in the anti-aging sector of beauty.
