We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Raisa Natividad. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Raisa below.
Alright, Raisa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
You can’t just ask for business and not do the effort. I do ask friends/ family to repost my posts so I could reach more audience. But you have to put in the effort, show that you have credibility in your business. Gain your friends/families’ trust. In a short amount of time, I was able to generate business just with referrals. If you know someone who is a business owner, show the support you want to receive. And whoever supports you, make sure you show gratitude.
Raisa, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a realtor based in SoCal and my business started not too long ago. I have always been interested in real estate but having an Asian/Filipino background, our parents have a set of standards for us. I followed what my parents wanted for me. But I always wondered, I was already successful in a career that wasn’t my first choice, what more could I have achieved if I chose the profession that I want? So I took the leap and got my license!
As I started my business, I realized quickly how passionate I am in helping people get into their dream home. I enjoyed learning different types of homes/ interior designs/ flooring/ kitchen counter, and hearing other people’s dreams and goals in life . But giving my client’s their home keys and seeing them have that spark in their eyes is what gave me the fuel to want to do it again and again. Being in real estate is not easy, but just helping someone has given me enough drive to continue my business and see where this passion takes me. My clients’ interest is top priority for me. I am committed to providing excellent customer service and I truly have a passion for helping people find their dream homes. I strive to fully understand what my client really wants. I believe that everyone deserves an exceptional experience when it comes to home buying, because it may be the most expensive thing you ever invest on. It is my job to be there for my client in every step of the way. I am dedicated to my clients and will go above and beyond to ensure that they are satisfied with the outcome of their real estate transaction
You know that saying, “find something you love to do, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life”, I can truly attest to that. Being in this business also made me reconnect to old friends/ family, discover my strengths/weaknesses and what I could offer/service to people. I found fulfillment in work, knowing that I could be that person to be able to help someone reach that milestone in their life.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Most of my clients are referrals. Social media has made it so easy to known. If you put in the right work, you give time to do it daily, you will easily become familiar with your following. I try to be the educator on instagram or facebook. Your followers/ friends or family may not comment or like every post but they see it, they will recognize you and the effort you put in your business. If you post everyday they will constantly be reminded that you are the professional in that industry.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Posting consistently. When I started, I posted maybe 2x a day. I didn’t want to give that chance to be missed, so I posted twice a day. Also if you are new, anything related to your business, post it. You have to make it seem that you have a long history. We are on our phones all day already, why not engage to your followers. Be genuine when you comment, ask a lot of questions to keep that engagement going and follow the people you look up to. Also post something personal every now and then, I learned quickly on the business that people hire you because they know, trust and like you. When you share something personal, your audience gets to know you on a deeper level and that’s when you start building meaningful relationships that could open more doors for you.
