Jourdan , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
I like to consider myself a concierge jeweler. I pride myself on the level of customer service I provide. I listen to what the client wants and needs and I strive to fulfill their desires. I go out of my way to meet conveniently at my home or theirs, and create a very comfortable, no pressure, situation in which we can create something unique and special.

Jourdan , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was first introduced to the jewelry industry when I started working with a gentleman who wanted to open an independent jewelry store to cater to private clients. As an assistant, I quickly learned the ins and outs of the jewelry business but was eager to learn more. I decided to educate myself in New York City at the Gemological Institute of America, where I eventually became a graduate gemologist. After that, I moved to Los Angeles where I was mentored by a few industry professionals, and soon became the manager of a store in Beverly Hills. I worked there for nearly five years before I decided to move back home and open my own company, JB Jewelry. I have now been successfully in business for eight years.
I am the proud mother of two small children, they bring so much joy to my life and have given me so much purpose outside of my career. In my personal time, I can be found spending time with family and friends and staying active exploring all the wonderful things Colorado has to offer.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
Being in the jewelry industry, there is a high level of competition. I stick my neck out on the line and give each sale my all. I provide a great deal of education to the creative process. It is often that clients will “shop” their rings, meaning they visit a number of jewelers before committing to their purchase. Being a small, female owned business it is at times hard to compete with large jewelry retailers. However, I like to think that I win most of my clients business because I offer exceptional pricing and a very unique experience.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
One of the most special things about my business is the relationships I create with my clients. They often become good friends! When I sell and engagement ring I am often invited to the wedding. I like to send flowers on their anniversary and cards for their birthdays. I then usually get to participate in the couples monumental moments in life. Anniversaries, birthdays, and babies. I create life long relationships that I get to revisit as often as I can.
