We recently connected with Chris Cade and have shared our conversation below.
Chris , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
If I could go back in time I would tell myself to keep going. I was always creative and loved being in front of the camera. Even as a middle schooler I was creating little movies with my sisters. I always had the talent but what I lacked was the confidence. The confidence to say, “so what I don’t have the camera that this person has,” or “so what I have never seen this idea, I’m still going to do it.” I do feel as though the mindset that I have as a 28 year old is better suited for it, but with my family as a support group, I feel that I could have done it back then. Of course I have no regrets because old things pass away, but I do feel as though if I started earlier, I could have been much further along.

Chris , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Chris Cade and I like to say that I’m a kingdom media mogul. I love God and I’m wanting to build His kingdom through media. I call myself a media mogul because I have my hand in music, podcasting, acting, writing, producing and much more. I have found that my discipline comes from knowing that it is not about feelings. Discipline is about going forward despite your feelings. Also, you cannot perfect something before you present it. People worry about having things perfect, but as a creative, I have had to remember that when I put it out, that is the only version of my creation that people know. To them, it is exactly what I wanted to make even if I feel like it is not.
The problem that I solve for people is showing them that there are other sides to God. A lot of Christian media is the same and I believe that it does not show the fullness of God. I am giving another side of Him that many others do not see. I believe this is what sets me a part as well.
As far as my works, I have a podcast called “The Bowl Podcast” on my network Vision 2:22. I produce and rap under WyzeHouse Collective and I also write and produce shows for my film company StraitGate Films. Everything has been built from the ground up with God’s instruction and although I have some accomplishments, I still have far to go.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to give God glory and build His kingdom on Earth. I truly want to show that He has so much to offer and I know that media is the best way to do it. In media you are able to show things in a way that words cannot. Representing God truly drives my mission because I truly did not have one until He gave it to me. Of course I thought of doing other things in media but all of them fell apart. Doing it for Him is the only thing that has stuck. I have blessed so many people with my creative ventures and there are many more that are waiting for it.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I believe that society can best help artists/ creatives by not limiting everything into fads. I feel that fads are the gatekeepers for new types of creativity. It can be really hard to bring something new when society pushes one thing at a time. I believe that if society were more open about giving spotlight to more creative ideas, rather than focusing on what’s the “popular thing” there would be so many more creative ideas. Instead, I believe that there is a hidden “copy this idea or you won’t make it” rule in place.
