Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marshenia Francis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Marshenia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.

I was a beautician in Louisiana for over 13 years. I’ve serviced new and old clients by doing their hair and also body sculpting. Back in April of last year I felt that I needed change, I felt that I needed to rebrand my business in order to gain a larger clientele so I decided to move to Houston. Not really knowing anyone here and not knowing if these new faces would like my work I stepped out and made the move. Upon my arrival I started working different jobs that I really didn’t like but I had to do something that would keep the bills paid . I became so frustrated because I wasn’t doing what my heart really wanted to do but I was so scared of rejection I didn’t even want to hand out a card. Finally I was able to get a job at a lash extensions studio and this was my chance to start marketing and getting the word out about my business. I started handing out cards and getting into different groups on social media and the rest is history. I just thank god everyday that I stepped out on faith and took that chance of moving. My business isn’t where I want it to be yet but I see so much more growth from where I was before.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Marshenia (Sheen) Francis Robinson. I’m originally from Lafayette, Louisiana and I currently reside in Houston, Texas. I’m a mother, a wife, and the owner of Sheen Get Me Bodied LLC. I specialize in Non invasive body sculpting, eye lash extensions, and natural hair. As a body contouring specialist I help women and men get rid of unwanted stubborn fat without the downtown and stress of having surgeries. I also work with clients that have had surgery as well. During my services I use different tools and machines that pretty much break down the fat , melts it, and shrinks it. Once this is done it’s massaged down to the lymphatic drainage areas where it will come out of the body through sweating or urination. Water must be consumed during this process so that you can have successful results. I love doing this because of the results each client has when they are done. Just seeing the smile on their faces when I show them the before and after pictures of their results let’s me know that I’ve done something amazing. Each persons body is different and reacts differently to the session so all results are different. The reason for me doing this is to give people and cheaper option from getting surgery and the best thing is there is no down time. Clients can come in get there session done and go back to work if they want. Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for growing my clients is marketing over social media. These social media platforms catch eyes from all over the world. Once you put in that hashtag of what you are advertising it’s catches the attention of the audience you are looking for. When I do this I receive so many inboxes about my business and people asking how can they go about booking a session with me. I think this along with referrals is the best way for me to get the word out and it has really help me.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.

I keep in touch with my clients with advertising specials and confirming appointments via email or text. We hold on to our phones like it we are holding on to life lol. So I know for sure once I send out that text or email, my clients will read it instantly because they will already have their phone in hand. This is the best form of contact in my opinion because If I were to mail out reminder letters or flyers I know it can get overlooked or thrown in the trash.
