Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Melissa Busick. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Melissa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the best boss, mentor, or leader you’ve ever worked with.

Back in 2010, I took a leap of faith to change careers to become a Personal Trainer. At the time, the only experience I had was working various positions in the restaurant industry, but my desire to serve others was growing and I wanted to be impacting lives in a different way.

Due to my passion for fitness, it was easy for me to find a job.

I was hired by one of the largest fitness company’s in the United States.

To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement, I really had no idea what I had gotten myself into but I was excited to begin this new journey.

Thankfully, the company had an incredible onboarding program that built my confidence in my ability to be a successful personal trainer. What I struggled with was building my business and reaching my monthly sales goals.

After struggling for several months, the Department Head along with the General Manager sat down with me to put together a plan along with additional training for me so I could perform at the level they both say in me. Both of these individuals have played a huge role in me becoming the person and business I am today.

Within 4 months, I went from being the lowest in sales to the number one for 6 months straight.

I had to the privilege to work with this General Manager for 4+ years. He has this amazing gift to see the potential in his team and draws these qualities out of us. Working with him, built my confidence not only as a trainer but also as a human being. Through his leadership, I learned how to apply these same ways with my clients. What amazed me the most, he took my previous experience as a server and restaurant manager and show me how this knowledge could be transferred to my current role as a Personal Trainer.

As I write this, my heart is so full of joy. Which is how he lead as leader, from his heart. A heart full of love for others while joy radiated out of him.

What a lot of people don’t know, was while working for him, I was going through on of the most challenging times of my life. A period in my life that almost broke me but I was given an opportunity by my General Manager to move locations to anywhere I wanted. He wanted to offer me an opportunity to have a new beginning, a fresh start that I desperately needed.

What he doesn’t know, that was the catalyst that lead to a series of events that created an enormous change within me and my life.

I had no idea how my life was going to change by saying YES to a new opportunity, a new beginning.

Hands down, he is one of the most amazing individuals I have had the privilege of working for and I am forever grateful for him! I know without a doubt he has had a profound impact on many lives.

Melissa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I always tell people, I didn’t find my gifts, my gifts found me.

As a young girl, I knew I had a some special gifts to help others. First, is to bring healing to others by just the touch of my hands with Reiki, but also using my words.

I could read peoples energy and know a lot about them without even talking to them.

I could see the steps they needed to take to fix a problem or to create a change in their life.

Due to my family’s beliefs and their inability to be open to this, I started shutting down these gifts.

I was tired of being different than everyone else, I just wanted to fit in.

And that’s exactly what I did for the next 30+ years, was to try to fit into a world I wasn’t meant to fit into.

I spent these years working in unfulfilling jobs and careers, working hard for my money and constantly trying to keep up with everyone else.

I was exhausted from life.

After experiencing two soul crushing events in my life, I began awakening to these gifts. I was constantly being reminded by God and the Universe of what my purpose and mission is in this life.

To guide others back to their truth, while offering healing that transforms lives and expands consciousness.

Once I began to fully except this, I began taking the necessary steps to begin creating my own Energy Healing and Spiritual Coaching business.

I currently offer various Reiki & Energy Healing Sessions, along with two, 1:1 Private Coaching programs and a digital course for self love.

My ability as a Human Design Projector to read others separates my from other coaches and guides. My keen ability to see patterns and beliefs within others comes naturally and the intuitive guidance I receive allows me to help my clients bypass unnecessary steps they would have taken without this guidance.

I know I am not for everyone and I am perfectly okay with that, as working with me will call you to rise up, to take action and take the steps necessary to let go of what’s stopping you and align to the highest version of yourself.

I am here to guide those who feel stuck on their path of awakening, those who are afraid to make decisions or to take the steps to move forward, for those who are wanting to “fast track” your healing or growth.

I am here to show women the way back to their feminine essence and being, to create Is wanting to let go of the hustle lifestyle and embrace the ease and flow of their feminine energy.

I am here to guide those who want to free themselves from any destructive, low vibration patterns that keep them feeling unfulfilled in life. Those who are wanting to re-write their story and break through limiting beliefs that create a new legacy for their lineage.

I am here to help birth the New Earth!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I wish I could say there was only one lesson I had to unlearn once I became a business owner.

However, there were several and I’m sure there will be more to come.

My biggest lesson had to do with my beliefs around money and work.

I grew up learning from my father, I had to work hard for my money. Which meant, working 10+ hours a day. Grinding away, struggling to create success and prosperity.

I was told you shouldn’t be motivated by money and more money only created more problems.

I was told I needed to be someone other than myself to make money.

Honestly, the list goes on. Can anyone else relate?

What I found was, the harder I worked, the more I pushed, the less I was of service to others.

I was exhausted, not enjoying life or able to fully show up authentically in my business.

I was out of alignment.

According to my Human Design type as a Projector, I am here to work but not in the traditional sense we have be taught.

I am here to guide others through energy, to have fun and play!

The more I play, the more fun I have in life, the more clients I attract.

I know what most of you are thinking, you think I have it all wrong.

But here’s the thing…..we have been conditioned to believe otherwise.

I am learning that my business is an extension of who I am. Re-writing my beliefs around money so it comes in easily and effortlessly when I take inspired action and follow my heart. To know, when I fully show up in my authenticity, my business becomes fun and exciting, that I get to play through the work I do.

I came into this world experiencing poverty consciousness, a mindset that kills many dreams, hope and possibly.

It’s through all the inner work, that I am re-writing my story around money so others can do the same.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Anytime I’ve had to pivot in my life, business or career was always linked to me following the beliefs of what others think I should do.

The most recent is actually in my business.

When I launched my business, I knew I wanted to do most of my marketing on Instagram and YouTube, two platforms I was very familiar with and excited to create content to connect with potential clients.

How I went about this, was the exact same way I did when I was part of a Direct Sales company. This lead me no where, I felt as if I was just spinning my wheels.

Looking back, I realized it did this for a few reasons.

The method I was taught, was all I knew and I could see this method being used by many Spiritual Business Coaches and Entrepreneurs.

I used the approach because it helped me create success and it was easily duplicated.

What I didn’t see until months of struggle; I wasn’t the same person I was 5 years ago. So why would I expected it to work? After all, the people I wanted to attract into my current business are different than those I attracted in Direct Sales.

Not to mention, my purpose and the energy in which I was working from didn’t align with the method I knew.

I had no choice but to evaluate things and take a new approach; which is to create quality content that show cases my gifts while sharing about my struggles and what steps I took to overcome them.

I create from a place of alignment, I take inspired action and have fun!

I let go of comparing my offerings and content to others, I gave myself full permission to show up authentically and trust in the algorithm of God and the Universe.

The other lesson I had to unlearn, is trying to be perfect. Getting caught up in trying to have the perfect photos, videos and grammar paralyzed me.

I learned you just have to start, everyone starts at the same place. Don’t get caught up in comparing yourself {a new spiritual entrepreneur} to that of someone who’s been a spiritual entrepreneur for 2+ years.

I am learning to enjoy the journey as an entrepreneur.
