We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Corinthian Mcleod. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Corinthian below.
Corinthian, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
In 2009, I started doing freelance modeling. As the year progressed I noticed I started to spend so much on makeup artists, hair styles and travel. By 2010, I started to think if I just knew how to do my makeup I could save me and my girlfriends a little money. I mean it really didn’t look that hard I could figure it out. By September 2010 I was enrolled in Brio Academy a Cosmetology school offering makeup classes for certification. This program was 8weeks long. Each week I hand to find $80 to pay off my course plus kit. Once o graduate in October I’ve evolved my idea of just doing makeup for my friends and I, to a full fledged business.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hi my name is Corinthian I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2010. I have worked on music video sets , fashion shows , had my work published online publications. I a new Esthetician but not new to the field. I service mostly women between the ages of 35-40. My services are but not limited to targeted skin care services and products , Lash Extensions, Bridal and Traditional Makeup and intimate skin care. The only problem I solve with every guest is the lack of knowledge. Each service requires before , during and after care instructions and helping to understand how , why and when results happen. I’m super proud of venturing out on my own. Some time a leap of faith is all you need. I would love all future guest to know Corinthians Beauty is a safe place to unwind , reset and refresh one mind body and soul.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I think life just happens when I has to happen. One of my biggest turn around in business has to be when Rihanna wore my lashes. Not only will that be the biggest celebrity of my career but a milestone that I never got to officially celebrate. That one victory I’ve learned to appreciate what is and not what was!!!
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I think every service entrepreneur should know that it’s imperative to stay persistent and consistent. In everything you do there will be a hiccup. But remember people love deals , people love reminders and people love feeling important!
