Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Morgan Bradley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Morgan, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I actually started off as a blog. I would talk about different fashion finds, how to style them, and where you can purchase the outfits from on a budget, After a while, seeing all these different bloggers getting paid to blog I knew that I wanted to get paid too! I figured instead of directing my readers to purchase from other retailers, why not purchase from me! I have style, I know I can make some type of difference. Then the idea just grew from there. I had the idea of creating my own online boutique towards the end 2018, but it did not come into fruition until March 2020. In 2019 I was in my research phase and trying to find the best hosting site, how to run a online business, etc. It was the perfect timing as well because I found out in May 2019 I was pregnant with my daughter. So doing all the reading, research, and testing different clothing vendors was perfect. Once my daughter was born it was go time afterwards, and Morgan B. Styles was born in March 2020!
Morgan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Morgan B. I am a mom of two and a bonus mom to three. I love shopping, listening to 90’s R&B music, and hanging out with my family. I got into the clothing industry because of my love for clothing. Ever since I was a little girl I would play dress up in my mothers clothes and pretend I was a business woman in a big office. I honestly had no clue what my occupation was, but I just knew I was someone important with my own office. As I got older my love for clothing just grew. Going to the mall became like therapy for me, and that is also how my mom taught me how to shop on a budget. I would get so engrossed in clothing and just be so excited no matter if I bought something or not. I starting working in retail back in 2012 and it grew even more! That is when I knew I had to have my own clothing line, clothing store or something because I cannot get away from this. It truly makes me happy.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
I remember when I first started my business in 2020 and of course I was still learning as any first time entrepreneur is. It was the BIGGEST holiday sale of the year as ALL businesses wait and get ready for…. Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I had no strategy or even any intention to do a Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale. But something in me told me I should do something, but I had no clue what to do. I had already missed Black Friday so the only other option left was Cyber Monday. I remember waking up in the middle of the night around 3AM or 4AM crying and praying to the lord to help me and He told me to create a flyer. It would be a buy one set and get the other set for 30% off because Cyber Monday was on the 30th. Mind you I did not have any product as of yet, but I was going to order the product the same day I created the flyer. So I created the flyer, bought the basic sets that I wanted from my wholesaler, and posted my flyer to social media and my email list on a Saturday. In all honesty I was not expecting anyone to purchase anything because it was so last minute. I took pictures in the product on a Sunday, sent another reminder for the Cyber Monday sale, and posted the items on my website. When Cyber Monday came I was so nervous and questing God was this even going to work. Well, God showed up and showed out because I sold out of ALL my sets on Cyber Monday. I cried real tears because that was all of Gods doing, not mine. Him waking me up in the middle of the night to create a flyer 2 days before Cyber Monday, and to trust Him through the process will always be my number one story for my business. Entrepreneurship is definitely a faith walk, and if you are not obedient to what He tells you to do… you will lose every time. I guarantee that!
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
One book that I recently just read was recommended to me by my mentor, We Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers. This book teaches that we are standing in our own way. You do not have to have all the bells and whistles to start, but just to start. Also that the decisions that you are making are hurting you in the long run because you are thinking with a poor mindset instead of a rich mindset. This book has helped to change my thinking in business and household wise and start thinking more strategically and get the help you need NOW! It will help you grow sooner than later.
