We were lucky to catch up with Nicole Rose recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nicole Rose thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I have taken a lot of risks throughout the course of my life, some not the best. The biggest and most significant was when I hit my rock bottom in 2020, and decided to change my life completely. To forge my new identity. I had spent a decade thinking that I was just in a phase, that I would grow out of hiding and numbing my pain and the feelings. I knew deep down that I was meant for so much more than that. I had years in between that I fell in love with fitness but, I could never manage to keep it a full time priority. I got married and believed we would last forever and that maybe I would break my cycle of self sabotage because of it. There were so many pieces that didn’t quite fit the puzzle. It wasn’t until I got to a point where I was hopeless, that I could start to build this version. I had to hit that bottom for me to make the serious changes in my life. I had to walk through the fear of losing everything I previously had, in hopes to gain so much more. I started my coaching business after my first year of sobriety, I began to see clearly the different cycles of self sabotage that are all around us and wanted to help women who wanted more out of life. That wanted to make their health a priority and to achieve goals that they have for themselves. I wanted to show them that there is more to life, that their past doesn’t dictate their future. They too can become who they are meant to be. So, while I did lose quite a few pieces, I get to discover other ones. I get to be the woman who has made fitness a full-time priority, I get to be the woman who helps other women break their cycles of self sabotage and I get to live FULLY.

Nicole Rose, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Nicole and I am a Health & Mindset coach for women. I started my business because, I myself experienced the obstacles of feeling not good enough, unworthy, and inadequate because of the mistakes I made in my past. I spent the past two years doing the work to overcome those obstacles and finally become the woman I wanted to be. Finally becoming consistent in all the habits that would push me forward, and not keep me in the same place year after year. I knew that there were other women who feel the same way I did, and who wanted help and guidance to make their health the priority they’ve dreamed it to be. Through new habit and routine building and an emphasis on nutrition and movement, breaking the old cycles of behaviors through action is possible. The foundation that is built with the new habits and routines is just the beginning. With the daily actions these women begin to write new beliefs about themselves. Ones that say I am CAPABLE. I wanted women to see that they can feel empowered regardless of those old beliefs. I wanted them to feel what I feel everyday, the sense of freedom, of purpose and someone I’m proud of. What sets me apart is that I walked through all of this myself. I have been in the same shoes and I climbed my way out of that darkness. I know what it takes, I believe in her.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I had the vision of starting my own coaching business it initially was more centered around personal training and nutrition. I whole heartedly believed that once women started taking care of their physical health, that their dreams and goals for who they wanted to be would start to actualize, like mine did. However, I noticed the one component that was missing that holds everything together was mindset. I have since pivoted to more mindset work. Without the belief in ourselves and our capabilities, consistency isn’t going to be acquired. We need that consistency to reach ANY type of goal. Where your head/mind is your body will follow. Working with women to overcome the obstacles that hold them back from their best routine for their goals, has been the missing link to getting them results that stick. The longevity of their health is the goal for me as their coach.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As I mentioned, I had a rock bottom in 2020. I made mistakes that I am not particularly proud of. I spent a decent amount of time feeling sorry for myself, and wishing I never walked that path. Here’s the thing, I crawled my way out and was able to face the music. I’m not embarrassed by my past nor do I feel less than because of it. Don’t get me wrong it took awhile to get to this place of acceptance, but I wouldn’t change anything. If I did, I wouldn’t be the woman I am today. It’s because of those lessons, I can relate to other women. I’ve felt probably every emotion there is when it comes to feeling not good enough or unworthy and I don’t sit in that today. I’m learning to use it to my advantage. It is a marker to what direction I never want to return to, and it’s my superpower. I have come out the other end when many people don’t. How can I not be grateful and share what I’ve learned with other women to help them?
