Chayse, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the decision of whether to donate a percentage of sales to an organization or cause – we’d love to hear the backstory of how you thought through this.

Donating to women shelters and local businesses helping mental health causes

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I began making soap as a hobby in 2020 during covid as a creative outlet. I’ve always been passionate about natural products and art so decided to give it a go. This eventually bloomed into a small business getting me featured in a magazine, on PlantYou and into stores. As a child and youth worker and now finishing up my RMT schooling, wellness has always been number one. I wanted my small business to give back and thats why I have chosen to donate proceeds and goods to women shelters as well as a few businesses that promote inclusiveness, mental health initiatives, wellness and help the community.

I never started this business as a “make money” opportunity, I truly wanted to do something fun and that I love and that others would love too.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

I think being genuine and having passion. I think others see how I am passionate about creating beautiful soaps but also am doing it for the right reasons- helping the environment, helping educate people on better ingredients and helping give back

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

It really was small and simple. I bought just enough ingredients and supplies to make one or two batches of soap to see if I truly could do it! Once I got my recipes down pat I started investing more into it
