Amanda , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?

I personally manage some of my platforms and have hired help to manage other platforms in the past! It is hard with art and personality being such a large part of my business. Please hire me for the art I can produce, yes. But they also hire me, for me. My knowledge, my connection with them, my passion , etc. conveying that over social media and staying connected and relevant is important!

Amanda , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I began my journey into the photography realm in the film world, in middle and high school as my moms assistant. She was a wedding photographer. I loved being able to work with her and be creative and learn. I started my own business 10 years ago with portrait and event photography and then started into the maternity and newborn world shortly there-after. I fell in love. Having 2 kids of my own (and some tricky pregnancies) made me realize just how magical pregnancy is and just how precious the sweet newborns are.

The biggest thing that sets me apart in the industry is I offer high end, editorial type images that make you feel like a model! I think it is so important to celebrate pregnancy in this way, often times when pregnant, expecting moms can feel tired, and the changing in hormones and body shape can make them feel undesirable. Once moms experience their maternity session with me, they see themselves in a new light, feel beautiful, confident, magical and celebrated! I also offer unique newborn photos that embrace simplicity and an organic and natural feel that is timeless and focused on baby and connections. I use all white/ black and gray tones in all my work and edit in both black and white and color depending on the images. I also offer albums, framed prints, and canvas as well as many more beautiful high end products you’ll cherish for a lifetime :) Art this beautiful must be displayed!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

I think the best strategy is to be yourself. Provide a wonderful client experience , and the rest will sell itself! Word of mouth is so powerful.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Word of mouth, Instagram and google are all very powerful tools in gaining new clients for my business
