Domonique , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

Mydas Advanced Esthetics LLC was a name fitting of what I like to provide. In Esthetics my main focus was and always will be skin health and with great healthy skin comes and awesome golden glow. Although it’s spelled differently it means the same. Mydas was the name of a King who had the golden touch; everything he touched turned to gold. Hence why I chose Mydas Advanced Esthetics LLC.

Domonique , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m a Licensed Esthetician and Instructor as well as a Master Reiki Practitioner. I started my skin health journey in my preteen years. Skin health has always been my passion. I was that young teenager that would pop vitamin e pills onto my face and despised any kind of breakout. Doing this at a young age helped my skin barrier and seeing how it helped over the years made me eager to learn more. Seeing how important skin health was and it the lack of education I started to research. In 2017 I started making products such as Shea butters, hair oils, facial serums and scrubs. I wanted to know more; I had to know more so in 2018 I enrolled into cosmetology school where I soon learned that branch of beauty was not for me. Soon after I left and enrolled into an Esthetics program where I lovefd each and every moment. Ever since then it’s been a non stop ride of education and perfecting my craft. Within a month after graduating I was licensed and had my own shop and it’s been on go ever since. Now not only do I provide superior service; I also educate future Estheticians and Cosmetologists on the importance of skin health and advanced modalities.

Have you ever had to pivot?

In 2022 I had to rebrand my business to Mydas Advanced Esthetics LLC which is formally known as Royale Skin LLC. This rebrand had to encompass who I now am. Mydas Advanced Esthetics LLC represents not only products and services but training and a sense of comfort that comes with the name. Along with the fact that the market has become over saturated with everyone wanting to have Royale or Royal in the name and in order to stand out you have to be different and that’s just what I did.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.

I sell my products directly from my site. This currently allows me more control of my profits, inventory, taxes and marketing. The only downside is though I have that control I limit my viewability that those platforms can provide. It’s a work in progress but I’ll get there.
