Latic, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

Justin Time Shipping Center is owned by myself and 2 business partners/brothers Tcal Watson and Tyler Cole. We wanted to provide a service that would be both sustainable and essential. Our business provides not only international shipping services, but P.O, packing, printing, money services, notary and passport pictures.

The business name, holds personal value to us as it was created to honor our late brother Justin Hackley. We uphold this business to make sure his name and legacy lives on forever.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I personally, have always considered myself to have an entrepreneurial spirit; I attended Morehouse University for Business Administration to provide myself with a solid business foundation. Again, when establishing my business, I wanted to make sure I provided services that could not be replaced digitally. Postal services will ALWAYS be in operation. Where I’m from, Brooklyn NY, the post office is not the most inviting or community friendly establishment. My partners and I prided ourselves in creating a unique, “boutique” postal experience where our local community feels like we are apart of the neighborhood. We know most of our customers by first name and focus on building relationships, customer retention and immaculate service.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

We were blessed to be able to open 2 storefront locations through the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, one of our locations had a plum[bing malfunction causing a flood. The flood damaged thousands of dollars worth of equipment and we were forced to close our doors for a few weeks. Of course, this was extremely unexpected and detrimental to our business, revenue and employees. We decided to become hyper focused, using online marketing to try and drive as much traffic as possible to our active location. We all learned how to create targeted ads through several social channels and left flyers and business cards around the neighborhood to attract new customers. We were able to build enough traffic in the standing location to maintain revenue, keep our employees on their normal schedules, and get our second location back up and running as quickly as possible.
