We were lucky to catch up with Kseniya Azerf recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kseniya, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, one thing many business owners consider is donating a percentage of sales or profits to an organization or cause. We’d love to hear your thoughts and the story behind how and why you chose the cause or organization you donate to.
Donating is a core value of mine. That’s why I choose to donate a portion of my clients’ investments to charity. Some organizations I’ve supported include Atlanta Community Food Bank, Humane Society, American Red Cross, St. Jude’s, and disaster relief for various countries in need.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Photography had been an interest of mine for quite some time. The COVID-19 pandemic offered me the unique opportunity to explore it so I decided to take the plunge and start a photography business.
My areas of interest in the field are couples, families, and aerial dancers. As an aerial dancer myself, I have an eye for beautiful lines and poses and am able to provide guidance to my clients if needed for the most impactful result. My goal during a shoot is to capture moments that my client is able to relive and FEEL through the screen – whether that’s tender love or radiating confidence.
I enjoy incorporating nature and architecture as my backdrop but also love the look of moody LED lighting in a dance studio. I would say my photos have a more film-like aesthetic to them.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Helping my clients feel like they are the main character. Nothing brings me more joy as a photographer when my clients love their photos and share positive feedback about their experience with me.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
A mission of mine is to elegantly expose the beauty and strength of aerial dancers to mainstream media. It’s a relatively small community that many may not know exists and I want to share it. A dream of mine is to travel around the country to do this. I also have a goal to eventually incorporate a film camera in my shoots; film photos just have that special, inimitable look.
