We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Olufunke Tonye-Preghafi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Olufunke , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers
One morning while, we had just arrived work, my team and I are prepping for the day.A lady came to the door requesting to be let in. We opened the door and. the first words out of her mouth was ‘I left him’. I saw she had been crying.
She came in, sat infant of the mirror and told us her story of domestic abuse and how Makeup always brightened her mood and made her happy.
She stayed for 6 hours, trying on all the colours and shades we had in store.
She left with a big bag and an even bigger smile on her face and hugs for everyone at the store that day. I never forgot her and she always tells the story of how our makeup store saved her.
On days I struggle with my Why,i remember her and keep going.
Olufunke , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
