We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Syndy Noisette a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Syndy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
Being a fashion designer I learned that many times people want to put you in a category, a genre , a specific style . They forget that fashion designers are artists expressing themselves through their creations.
We don’t all like to be put in a box , sometimes Im inspired to create something urban, other times simple, sexy and/or avant-garde . It all depends on my mood , the vibe, and what inspires me during my process.
I have learned to block others expectations of my art and focus on being in my moment and enjoying my creating process.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been in the fashion industry in some shape or form all of my life . Im not afraid to take risks and create something special for the right clients. whether its for prom or date night I can make you look amazing.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is seeing my creation on someone and they look exactly or even better then what i envisioned .
How did you build your audience on social media?
Honestly I am still building my presence but my advice would be to remain true to yourself , be you ! Have fun! Show your process and engage with others. Be consistent and patient.
