Sacha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How has Covid changed your business model?
Ironically, the changes made within my business model due to the Covid-19 pandemic have been phenomenal. I have successfully created a thriving ecosystem between my personal brand and company, SWI Management Group. There is a silver lining or a blessing in disguise found in the pandemic which has positioned me as an authority and trailblazer in entrepreneurship.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi, I’m Sacha Walton, a Mompreneur and business strategist who helps women and creative entrepreneurs start and grow sustainable businesses while managing mental wellness.
I can remember being a little girl who always pretended to own a business. In 1998, it all became a reality for me when I started an event production company, later established as SWI Management Group. Over the years, I continued to grow as an entrepreneur and my business evolved into a 6-figure organization with government, corporate, and private organization event contracts. Being passionate about business, I also successfully helped other entrepreneurs start their companies.
I believe what sets me apart from others in my industry is my 20 years of corporate experience and business degrees. I believe in using your skill sets and experience as an entrepreneur and I teach my clients the same belief system. I help solve the problems business owners have when they tend to skip valuable steps in forming their organizations. One of the popular steps many people skip is not developing a full plan for their business. They tend to jump right into having a sales and branding strategy, but they lack the strategic business plan that fortifies the entity. When this happens, the foundation of their business can’t withstand the pressure of success or lurking failures.
As an expert and prominent voice in business and entrepreneurship, I offer one-to-one and group coaching programs in strategic business planning. When I’m not working directly with my clients, I am speaking to entrepreneurs globally on various business topics and mental wellness for entrepreneurs.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My favorite saying is, “entrepreneurship is not for the weak.” Being a founder is not easy and the journey has its ups and downs. Although my business journey started over 20 years ago, I have had my fair share of battles. The heart of my story started with the pandemic. The event industry was completely shut down and my business was quickly spiraling down. You will never know how resilient you are until something happens that causes you to fight for survival.
I was challenged with defeating thoughts and feeling like a failure because something I had no control over was wrecking my life. Many people lost their businesses during the pandemic, but I was one who found the courage to face the ugliness I was enduring. It was through my resilience that I didn’t succumb to the defeat Covid-19 brought to so many other business owners. It was during this time that I found the value of maintaining my mental wellness. As entrepreneurs, we rarely prioritize self-care which makes it hard for us to be the highest versions of ourselves in our ventures.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
After experiencing the onset of the pandemic, I was ready to throw in the towel. I felt lost without operating in my passion for curating events. I had other skill sets to pull from, but it wasn’t the same. I knew a change was needed if I relaunched my business. Finding the courage to step outside of my comfort zone was necessary to become who I am today.
I shifted the business model to include a personal brand and relaunched the company in December 2021; successfully creating a thriving ecosystem. This pivot caused me to experience opportunities that I could have only imagined as a business strategist helping more entrepreneurs with my guided framework, speaking throughout the US and Paris as an international speaker, I’ve authored two books, my latest is The Ugly Truth About Entrepreneurship: Keys to Managing Mental Wellness featured in the Associated Press, founder of According 2 Sacha Podcast, and producing international events through my company, SWI Management Group.
As an expert in my industry, I am passionate about helping others fortify their businesses through a strategic business planning process. My program includes mindset coaching, business planning, and more. I am on a mission to ensure businesses will be able to withstand the toughest challenges like the pandemic or even the recession.
