We recently connected with Daniel Booter and have shared our conversation below.
Daniel, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I manage my own social media. I feel it is a great way to keep myself updated on social media & study all trends and growth strategies. It’s helped me stay ahead of a curve & give valuable information to my clients who need help growing their own accounts for themselves or their businesses. I feel that although hiring a company would definitely save my time; I would lose the benefit of the actionary lessons caused by the intricate internal usage of the platforms. I love studying the platforms to see what is coming next & predicting new trends. Managing my own accounts helps me do just that. Which in turn gives me the insight to give back that valuable information to those who need it most.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am the CEO and founder of D.B. Marketing Group, a marketing company that assists celebrities and businesses with developing and implementing marketing strategies. The company specializes in social media, public relations, photography, cinematography, graphic elements, and branding among other areas of marketing. My work with the NBA, Capital Hill, and my contribution to the United Nations with the coordination of marketing work for their globally recognized large-scale events are all lauded. In addition to acting as CEO, I donate my marketing expertise to non-profit organizations that support underprivileged children in many countries, believing I can utilize my marketing expertise to encourage young entrepreneurs and people all around the world. Through my 10+ year career in marketing I have amassed a great skill for making genuine connections with powerful people & connecting them to the causes they strive for.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think what helped me the most building my reputation within my market was understanding what each of my clients needed at the end of the day. Without having a clear goal and objectives set to be successful you really have nowhere to go. So I strive to understand my clients, their goals their needs and what they require to reach those goals. After I can understand that, is when I can create a comprehensive marketing plan for their success. Along with that formula I try to be as genuine as possible on all social media platforms. I want to be able to spread positivity and a motivational mindset to my followers. So I make sure that I can be as genuine and motivational as possible. I think that goes a long way, not only to my followers, but also to my reputation and representation of my business acumen
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Right after high school, I realized I had a skill in marketing. I contacted all of the people that I knew to let them know that I was interested in helping a business strive and grow. I was reached out by a mutual to work for a company in Toronto, Canada. That company was just starting off and hired me for the summer to help them launch their entire business so we worked on their website, business cards, flyers, branding, logos, and entire marketing plan. That was the foundation of a very successful business for them all stemming from the work that I had done that summer. That was just the beginning, but I open my eyes to realize how much I could do inside of the walls of marketing, and how many doors I can open simply doing the same thing, I did that summer. Now, more than 10 years later I’m still at it working with different companies using the same principles I learned with more intricate details, helping some very important people. I think the biggest advice I can give to anyone that was in my position 10 plus years ago is to take it one day at a time. You don’t need results today you can build your results overtime and those results will be more everlasting than you would have ever thought. Consistency is the key. Short spurts of massive growth with longer spurts of no growth will never get you to where you wanna go. So just think one day at a time, You don’t need to plan for the next 10 years, just plan for tomorrows success.
