Hi Ryan , thanks for joining us today. Not Found
Ryan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
I think one of the most important lessons that I’ve learned at a previous job, before my music career, was that if you’re not working towards your own dreams, you’re working to help make someone else’s dreams come true. I can’t remember who told me that but it really stuck with me. The job I was working when I heard that saying was a good paying job with good benefits but I was actually working that job for one reason… to save up money to pursue MY dream. I knew that I was moving to Nashville sometime in the summer of 2017 and I needed to save as much as possible for me to make that happen.
I worked that job for almost 2 years, and even though my heart wasn’t in it, I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel and I knew my end result was me being able to pursue my own dream and fulfill my own goals. What made it even more difficult was that I was “burning both ends of the candle”; working 50 hours a week at my “normal” job and then playing shows Friday – Sunday, every weekend. It was tiring, draining, and I made many sacrifices to achieve the end goal, but it was worth every bit of it.
Another lesson I also learned from that job was that hard work truly does pay off. My boss and his wife started their company in the 80’s with a $9,000 loan and a dream. 36 years later, they turned that dream into a $60 million dollar per year company. Impressive, to say the least. There were a few more factors that went into the success of their company, such as the right market, right location, and right timing. However, without the hard work they put into it, it would’ve never taken off. You can have all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed, but if you don’t have the work ethic to support it, then ultimately, you have nothing.
Work your BUTT off and put all of that work ethic towards your dreams and goals and start watching those dreams turn to reality!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I think my ultimate goal is to touch anyone and everyone in this world, with my music and songs. I want them to feel something or relate to something, or listen to a song of mine that triggers a distant memory (whether good or bad). Music is about letting go and forgetting it all, at least for 3 minutes or so. In a world where there is so much negative, I want to show people that you can find all kinds of positives through my music and songs.

What’s your view on NFTs?
Listen, I am an old soul and an old school guy from the mountains of Virginia. I have no clue where the boom came from from non-fungible tokens. It’s a weird world we’re living in, for sure. I don’t understand the concept of cryptocurrency nor how you even use it. I’ll stick with folding a few bills in my wallet and hoping that takes care of whatever may arise on my journeys. Until there is a more solidified crypto, I believe I will pass!
