We were lucky to catch up with Chris & Elyse Miller recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chris & Elyse, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
We both worked in the television broadcasting industry for several years as on-camera talent for local news stations. It was a good fit at first, for both of us. It was how we met and it matched our shared personality and education. As time passed, and our careers progressed, both of us began to lose enthusiasm for the content we were sharing and the reasons why we were sharing it. From our private discussions at home, we both felt we weren’t making the most of our shared passion for fitness and our desire to encourage those around us to lead healthy lives. We decided our ultimate goal would be starting our own fitness brand, but with several years in the industry and a comfortable salary, we understood it would take some bold moves, or an incredible opportunity to make a change.
Elyse was the first to leave the business. She had been a fitness trainer since the age of 18 and had began working as a fitness model. Ultimately, this led to more exposure and opportunity in the fitness industry. At the same time, Chris began to grow weary of his job in broadcasting, even though he had an esteemed position as a morning show host, we both knew it wasn’t the right fit, but perhaps just a stepping stone.
It was. A few years later, Elyse’s fitness career took off after she earned recognition as a “Fitness Star” from a worldwide publication. It wasn’t long after that Chris began to pursue his lifelong passion and became a certified fitness coach as well.
We both began working for a major fitness company. It was the catalyst that caused Chris to finally leave his career in broadcasting, after 20 years. In August of 2022 we worked together to launch our own fitness brand, Two A Day.
Our journey has taught us to take advantage of every opportunity. We’ve also learned to be patient, sometimes the path we’re on is preparing us for something more.

Chris & Elyse, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Our passion is to encourage people to replace bad habits with healthy habits, to lift up those around us and to be strong for those that depend on us. We believe the body fuels the mind and the spirit, and that fitness can jump-start a new, positive perspective.
When it comes to fitness, we know consistency is the absolute key. We know if workouts are short, you’re more likely to keep it up. Our program, Two A Day, guides you through a variety of short and effective workouts you can do anywhere. We aim to help you build strength, stamina and mobility. As the name suggests, we hit you with two different modalities each day, so your body gets the variety it needs for total fitness, yet we only ask for a total of 30 minutes each day.
We’re grateful to every one of our members that have been tremendously supportive and are seeing incredible results. Our goal is to know each of our members personally and to help them get back on their feet when they experience a momentary setback.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For us, the most rewarding aspect of owning and operating our own fitness brand is having full control over our own content and the ability to choose how that content is presented. Working for someone else, we always find things we agree and disagree with. We made note of all those things and made a plan to do things better on our own. We’re still a startup operation, but we learned a lot about how to represent ourselves on social media, how to manage our resources and the most effective tools for marketing.
Learning from the perceived missteps of others has been an incredible tool in helping us form our own business plan, even if it is on a much smaller scale.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The initial launch generated a lot of buzz from our friends, family and followers, but that buzz didn’t last long. Now the process of attracting new interest is a tougher task. We’ve needed to change up our strategy several times and we needed to branch out to new platforms we’ve never considered. It’s been a challenge in patience and resilience. But we’re enjoying the process. We’re learning a lot.
When it comes down to it, we know we have something valuable and exciting and we’re going to keep sharing it with the world. We’re literally seeing the fruits of our labor in the lives of our members as we see them growing stronger and making healthier decisions. Every day they’re sharing incredible results and it makes worth every effort.
