Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vicky Zimerfeld. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Vicky thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happy a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I don’t see myself doing anything else. I have degree in dietetics, I really wanted to major in photography in college but at the time didn’t believe in myself, wasn’t sure if my dreams would take me far in life. Always believe in yourself, do what you love and you’ll be very good at it. You live once and if you wake up everyday excited to go to work that’s success.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Photography was my passion from high school and my parents are both artists. When our first daughter was born 11 years ago my business took off after I started posting her baby photos on social media. In the beginning my work was in studio with lots of cute baby props but eventually I realized lifestyle photography is my niche. We specialize in newborn, maternity, family photography and my goal is to capture personality, emotion and life.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
When I edit photos from each session and smile, it’s so rewarding to be able to capture moments frozen in time for families, priceless memories. Kids grow up so fast and life flies by, we all need to have photos taken and often that is an investment you will never regret.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Often photographers get comments like your job is so fun and easy or do you have another job outside of photography? So much goes into running photography business like marketing, customer service, sales, styling and more, it’s not just shooting and editing, it’s very much a full time job
